Jake Coco was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1984 and was raised by his single mother Patricia. She introduced him to the violin at the tender age of two, and from there Jake began his long voyage through the journey of music. After mastering the violin in only five years, Jake decided to move onto other musical instruments. At the age of nine he taught himself guitar and began learning the power of percussion with a drum set that was given to him by his stepfather. By the age of fourteen Jake was already performing on a regular basis at local jazz, blues, and rock & roll clubs, playing everything he could from the drums and the piano to the guitar and the bass.

After graduating high school in 2002, Jake was faced with a great decision. He was offered a full scholarship to the Berklee School of Music for his spectacular performing abilities on the drums. He was also given another opportunity to tour with his band, Spenser. Following his passion for music and his love of performing, Jake decided to stick beside his band and began gaining all his knowledge and wisdom of performing on the road over the next two years.

Once he was back home, Jake began writing lyrics and producing his own music that would one day become his album Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales. Jake was then faced with another difficult decision. He could stay with the band that had become his family, or spread his wings and fly. Jake followed his heart and began his journey as a solo artist, locking himself in his basement studio for nearly four months where he wrote, arranged, produced, mixed and mastered the songs that became the album Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales.

After finishing his album, Jake packed up his life, kissed his mother goodbye, and made his move to Hollywood. Jake's music is a raw and unfiltered view of the lessons he has learned in life, thus far.

Since coming to Hollywood in 2003, Jake Coco has begun to take the music industry by storm. Working exclusively for Alliance Records, Jake has emerged as one of the top up-and-coming artists in music today. He is an extremely popular artist on MySpace and his music has been featured in films such as Confessions of a Pit Fighter and Lake Dead. In addition, Jake was one of the first artists to utilize YouTube to bring his music to the public. His influential videos, featuring himself playing his songs acoustically, are extremely popular on the website; they garner millions of views, making him one of the most popular YouTube artists of all time. Due to all of this, his album Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales sold very well despite not having the backing of a major label.

Jake Coco is currently in the studio recording his new album, Redefining Love. The songs that make up the album combine the immense knowledge he has gained during his time in Hollywood with the same heart and emotion that made his first album so spectacular. The album’s songs are already creating a buzz around Hollywood and the album is sure to blow away his current fans, as well as bring in a plethora of new ones.

    Not so many words for it... just listen to it and enjoy!!! It such a shame that almost nobody in my country Belgium knows him. We adore "Milow", so I think that Jake could be a real 'hit' here.

    Loved the first CD! Just bought it and the 2nd looks to be equally as impressive. I plan to add it to the growing collection! Jake Coco's music is refreshingly sincere and a complete break from the mass-produced music that's on popular radio.     Well what can I say...? This 2nd release by Jake Coco meets all expectations and more. So to all the fans whom have been ready to burst with anticipation for so long then feel free to do so now because this album will not let you down. Jake shines on this new material thats not too far removed from his 'Broken Hearts...' days but still reveals a sense of its own individuality... if that makes sense. The ballads are there, the little quirky rock moments are also about and theres even a nice little instrumental track as well. Jake's songwriting, I feel, has reached new depths as well proving that this artist will only continue to shine brighter in the future. All I can say is grab a copy of this while you can and spread the word! Let 'Re-Defining Love' be the missing piece to your musical jigsaw puzzle. Thanks Jake and the services at CDBABY.com
