Now I should warn you, don't put this disc on thinking that you're going to find the face of Jesus in it, or that it's the post punk "Nebraska", you won't and it's not. If you put this record on because you want something "quiet" you have made a mistake. Sure it's acoustic and the guitar is somewhat dulcet in tone, it is not a quiet record. Dark, but not depressing, it's a conundrum almost an experimental folk record, of course if anyone described it that way it wouldn't be heard by anyone except for people who lurk in the back pages of Dirty Linen.
This is the fourth release for JINDRA; the man, the myth, the legend, well the first two anyway. And, it's a fairly radical departure, no effects no amplifiers just guitar and voice (guess that's how he came up with the name). At the heart of every great piece of music is the the song itself and there is just something sort of delightful about stripping away the effects and hype and getting down to just the barest of minimums. Then there are the lyrics, wow JINDRA is not a happy man. But then again maybe he is because he has found a really great way to exercise his demons. At this point you could compare him to Dylan, but please don't cause outside of the fact that they are both white males who play guitar and are fairly smart they don't have that much else in common. Well maybe they do but it's not really worth thinking about. JINDRA is a fairly unique beast and if this is the only side of him that you have ever seen then I might suggest picking up a Mooter(cdbaby.com/mooter) disc to hear how he functions with a full array of instruments.
