"Live in Peru" was recorded live at the Jazz Zone in Lima, Peru. It is a low fidelity, high energy recording that "...crackles with excitement" (Lynn Darroch, The Oregonian) featuring original compositions by John JB Butler. "This album(...)showcases a fast and furious sound that is vibrant and modern, the six original Butler compositions seem to pick up where hard bop and free jazz left off. The quartet creates excitement from the first downbeat." (Kyle O'Brien, Jazzscene)The band consists of some of the hottest players in the jazz world today and was described as "full of magic" by El Comercio in Peru.
