Press descriptions for this southern born singer-songwriter range from "hearty voiced troubadour", to "delicate and passionate". They claim her to have the "voice of an angel", and then declare that she "rocks the house". A little confusing, eh? Fact is, to find a 'label' for Karen E. Reynolds you have to look to a fan's opinion.
"Shawn Colvin, while channeling the spirit of Cheryl Wheeler, meets up with Alison Krauss disguised as Emmylou Harris". This is about as close as you'll get to an accurate description.
A touring performing songwriter averaging 120 gigs per year, owner of a booking/management agency, head of an Indie record label, and with numerous national credits as either producer or promoter, she is as varied in the music business as she is artistically. Let's not forget that she hosts Writer's Block, a program on public radio and the internet showcasing independent artists. In short, she stays busy.
Although wearing many hats (she admits that baseball caps are a little more her style), Karen is first and foremost, a singer-songwriter. Her songs, delivered in a voice that is, all at once, both powerful and tender, cut to the chase of emotion. Whether a sad tale of loss (Losing You, Never Any More Than A Lover), or a comical look at a relationship gone awry (Blue On Tuesday), she will reach you and move you. Constantly carving her 'nitch' in music, Karen has performed in notable listening rooms, festivals and venues (Eddie's Attic, Blue Bird Cafe, Cape Fear Folk Fest, Southern Women's Festival) all across the Eastern United States and has shared performance tickets with Caroline Aiken, Christine Kane, Michelle Malone, Halcyon, Greg Trooper and countless others. A performing member of the impressive "Indiegrrl" organization, she has appeared as part of the Millennium March festivities in Washington, D.C., has performed the national Anthem for the US Olympic Baseball team and was a featured artist on Oprah Winfrey's Oxygen Network Tank Tour.

GOOD FOOD FOR YOUR EARS AND SOUL
author: donnaKaren does a great job blending her lyrics with the music...she has a style that reminds me of singer/songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez...she surely gets her message out in her music.... Worth every dollar spent and every minute listened.....
