    Kathleen Grace's Sunrise is a most noteworthy initial CD. All musicians on this specific recording were awesome. Kathleen presents listeners with a unique vocal exercise on all the songs on this album. There is a solid spiritual tone to her voice, which adds greatness to the quality of her work. Highly impeccable are Darek Oles's skills on stand-up bass. Absolutely perfect, Darek. There is nothing negative at all about this work. Hope to hear from Kathleen again, with the same combination of musicians, sometime in the future.

    My wife and I caught the last few bars of "Softly as in a Morning Sunrise" online at KCSM.org and knew we had to have this CD, so we ordered it. We were not disappointed. You won't be either.

    At last, a jazz-oriented singer with impeccable intonation, finely-honed rhythmic sense, a keen intelligence, and a poignant/joyful sound that can sting your eyes with tears or send warm shivers up your spine...by the way, her version of "The Summer Knows" alone is worth the price of admission, surpassing even Miss Streisand's in excellence. Simply outstanding!

    The rendition of "But Not For Me" on this album is unique for that song. It revives a simple, classic jazz structure that allows a small combo to swing simple ballads. They're just little tunes, after all, and a great salad, well, it's just vegetables. Along with the styling on "I've Got the World on a String," this CD suggests that at last there may be a future for female vocalists renewing the standards in the jazz style of the greats -- Ella, Sarah, Peggy, etc. Kathleen Grace is easily in the top ten living female vocalists. But it has always been a question of whether the market will let great musicians get together for the great sessions. Buy it. Be a part of that effort.

    Kathleen has such a beautiful voice when I heard Lady Is A Tramp on the radio I looked her up right away and ordered her CD. Great song choices and a wonderful band especially her pianest, who did some of the arrangements and co-arranged with Kathleen on some.
