"Soaring contemporary rock, with a smooth melodic voice of hope". These words only scratch the surface of the music of Kenny Drew. Hailing from Jacksonville, FL, Kenny's twenty years in music have seasoned a musical melting pot in this self-titled CD.
Take a serving of Journey, add a helping of Sting, stir in a little Seal and Bruce Hornsby, and then add a touch from other artists like Plumb, Michelle Branch and even a little Dream Theater. Kenny's songs are a unique blend of some of his favorite musical influences from pop, rock, and jazz. His majestic voice is both incredibly rare, and moving in it's delivery. His words tell a poetic tale of life and love from a Christian point of view.
Kenny began playing bass guitar in 1984. Switching to vocals soon after, he found his passion and sought to become the best singer he could. With great discipline and attention to detail, Kenny quickly turned ears and became an incredible singer with exceptional range, and smooth, flowing tone. Over the years, local bands turned into touring bands, and an extensive amount of national live experience followed. Picking up guitar, piano/keys, and drums along the way, Kenny grew weary of the infamous "Band Break-up Syndrom". Deciding to return home and build his own studio, he took matters into his own hands.
