Harmony Yodeling Champions!
This album showcases KG & The Ranger's award-winning harmony yodeling, including the song "Sagebrush Symphony" which won the harmony yodeling contest held by the WMA in Las Vegas in 2002.

Cowboy heroes and the Old West come to mind when KG & The Ranger take the stage. They bring a fresh new sound to classic cowboy songs - their music will transport you back to the days of the dime matinees and silver screen heroes like Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. While they stay true to the original feeling of the cowboy songs of the 1930's and 40's, their unique style and wonderful close harmonies make you the feel you are hearing these songs for the first time.

They first met while playing for a community barn dance, and brought together more than 20 years of musical experience, from folk music to barbershop, to create their present unique Western sound.

Here's what Ranger Doug, from the Riders In The Sky, has to say: "KG & The Ranger sing with charm and style, they yodel spectacularly, choose great material with unerring taste, and write fine new songs as well. Their growing and continuing success is well deserved."

KG & The Ranger will bring back fond memories - but also make you feel that you are hearing these songs for the first time!

National performances have included Silver Dollar City in Branson; Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival at Melody Ranch; Ozarks Folk Center; National Festival of the West; Wild West Arts Club in Las Vegas. They have shared the stage with many western music greats like Roy Rogers, Jr. and Rex Allen, Jr., and have opened for the Sons of the San Joaquin, Riders In The Sky, Wylie and the Wild West, Johnny Western, Don Edwards, Waddie Mitchell and Michael Martin Murphey.

My older son at age 2 heard them at a live performance in their own base of Madison, WI a couple of years ago. He is now five and still loves the music. We had their Tenderfoot CD so I decided to try this one. Now both my boys ages (5) and (2) dance, play guitar, and wear cowboys hats and just have a ball. I also enjoy the music as well. The group is very popular here in Wisconsin.

  • Music is exceptional and from the heart.

This collection is fabulous - harmonies are lush and Karen and Rick sing with integrity. I've never had a hankerin' to be a cowboy(girl), but listening to these tunes makes me think again, and want to 'go home' to a place I've never been. They bring a kinder and simpler era to life - there's hope and comfort (and laughter) in these songs - Bravo!

  • KG & THE RANGER TOOK ME BACK TO A SIMPLER TIME
    author: Oona in Florida

I heard KG and the Ranger on WMNF in Tampa, Florida. They not only played beautifully in the studio, but were warm and funny too. My dad used to sing these songs to me while we traveled dusty roads in the old Nash in Idaho. This album went straight to him for Valentine's Day.

  • Little bit o cowboy/girl in all of us , celebrate it right here...............
