notes
Leslie had been singing and performing since she was nine, so it was no surprise when upon turning 18, she moved to NYC to pursue her musical career. While utilizing her talent in various bands and professional studio work, she formed a duo to create and perform her original material with Roger Bartlett (formerly of Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefers). Her passions then lead her to California where she began working and recording with her band, Lost Borders.
Leslie can be heard on many television/radio jingles, albums, and demos including "Tell Me", which was a hit duet for Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand. You may also find her featured on the latest release from Thomas Dolby entitled Forty, as well as singing the original sound track song, Six Times around the Sun for the CBS mini-series, Perfect Murder, Perfect Town.
In March of 1999 Leslie won a Grammy Award for her vocals on the love theme from the film Titanic "My Heart Will Go On", which was recorded by Celine Dion and won Record of the Year for 1998.
In 1996 she founded Working Jane Music and released her first solo album, "Standing at the Moment". The tour to support this album release included performances at Freight and Salvage, The Great American Music Hall in California, Passim's in Massachusetts and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in New York State.
Currently she's performing/touring with Casey Kelly.
In addition to Leslie's vast vocal contributions, her talents as a songwriter can be heard via other artist projects. Most recently, NYC artist David Ippolito recorded the poignant, yet upbeat song "More Miles on the Heart", which she penned.

author: Rebecca ParrI've followed Leslie's music since her 'Santa Cruz' days (1990's), and her albums keep getting better and better. She's the music industry's best kept secret; this CD easily competes with 'mainstream' vocalists...
