notes

Lost Coin is a pop/rock band with passion, power, and conviction.

The group has been together for over 4 years traveling throughout Canada, the United States, and various parts of Europe sharing their music wherever and whenever possible. They have sold thousands of albums, opened for dozens of international artists (ie. Jars of Clay, Reliant K, Rebecca St. James, Audio Adrenaline, Sonic Flood, etc.), appeared on local and national television programs (CTV's "Breakfast Television" in Halifax, the New PL's "New Day," CTS "the Warehouse," Rogers Cable TV, "100 Huntley St." on Global TV), and have won a mantle full of various awards and accolades.

As a band, Lost Coin has had only one goal - to strive for excellence in their music, their showmanship, and their message.

"Music is the great communicator," explains lead singer Michael Bannerman. "As a band, it's important to us that our music and shows are incredibly entertaining, but it is equally important that our music has something to say. There are already more than enough bands singing songs about cotton candy and bubble gum. It's not that there isn't a place for that kind of stuff - it's just that we're not it."

The songs on the band's latest project titled "Human" focus on the personal experience that people explore in their search for their place in the world.

"As musicians we sing about the things that are important to us," says keyboardist Scott Bannerman. "It is about who we are and what we think and feel. People are constantly looking for some kind of meaning from their life. We believe we have found some meaning in ours and desire to share our thoughts and feelings through our music..."

"...You won’t find a better mix of variety and talent on Christian and likely the mainstream music market. This CD has been a lot more fulfilling to review than anything I’ve seen come out of Nashville in the past few years...If rock’s your style than this album is worth whatever it takes to get your hands on it...Don’t miss this release - you won’t be disappointed." Nathan Eisen for the Phantom Tollbooth Electronic Magazine.

This CD has not left my car CD player since I got it. I love to crank up "smile" and just drive. I highly recomend it!

  • Wow - great pop music with a nice edge to it!

I really liked the CD. I have the bands other CD which I also really like - but find it to be a little moody at times. This album is fun, yet still exibits Lost Coin's powerful grasp of the English language - in other words the songs aren't just simple "goo" crap full of typical Christianese. My favorite song is either Let It Go - or Only Words. I love the "edge" and guitar work on Let It Go (it's a great song to just crank up and drive with) but I also find myself constantly sining the tune for Only Words. I realize that this isn't much of a review - but that's not really what I do for a living - I sell insurance. Oh well - I love the album and recomend it to anyone that likes Barenaked Ladies, Collective Soul or Counting Crows.
