Fantastic!
author: James WilliamsThe more I listen to this CD the better it gets! Lynne's voice has just that little bit extra edge to it. Add to that a cracker band, great songs and you have one fantastic CD! Every so often, someone comes along to get you believing again and she is the one!
Overall a very enjoyable album, beautifully performed.

A nice collection of songs in varying tempos, of which, my picks are the stomping 'Soft Place' one of those paradoxes between lyrics and musical style, which is anything but soft, 'Make It On My Own' a ballad about love lost, (The) Silence Says It All, Lynne Taylor Donovan's own composition, the bouncy 'Doctor' and the gentle 'Angel In Your Eyes'. Lynne Taylor Donovan has been picking up a lot of airplay in Europe and has featured in the European most played charts. There are some really good dance tracks, which will find favour with our dance enthusiasts. Overall a very enjoyable album, beautifully performed. Sue McCarthy

Lynne Taylor Donovan: Talk To Me Canadian Lynn Taylor Donovan has been chipping at the edges of country music for a few years. Slowly, but surely, and with the active promotion of her label, Pacific Records, this singer and songwriter who holds a degree in psychology is finally landing on major independent charts. And to confirm the chart placements, she’s had her debut voted as an Album of the Month in England, and she’s also claimed a Jukebox Award, again in England. LTD is not only attractive – as her cascading hair and guitar-clutching photo proves in the shot of her liner notes – but the gal can sing. And as a further string to her well played guitar, she writes, too. In fact, four of the ten cuts bare her moniker. "Talk To Me" is a mid-paced rocker. With its Shania-tinged feel, the track has been pulling keen European, American, and Canadian radio interest. It’s been this global interest in Donovan’s music that has earned a triumphant claim to the #38 spot on the World Wide Mainstream Chart. Other standout tracks include the riff-driven "Soft Place". With its tale of a harrowed heroine looking for a man with some emotional strength, the track serves as a signpost to other neighborhood disturbances – "Turn To Stone," "Lies," the moody "The Doctor," and the mandolin, Dobro, guitar and drum fest played out on "Angel In Your Eyes," a former #3 on European charts. Check out Lynn Taylor Donovan. One prestigious music mag has branded her as one of Canada’s best kept secrets. With a clutch of choice tunes, a sultry and attractive appearance, and a band who hang tight on every perfect note, it’s an accurate description.

author: Country Music and Dance-Scotland-Gerry's ReviewsLYNNE TAYLOR DONOVAN...TALK TO ME…PACIFIC RECORDS Vancouver based Lynne first came to the notice of the European audiences via the Country Hot Disc in March 2001 when she had a single “Angel in Your Eyes” released here. It was the highest new entry on the chart and made No 3. Three more singles followed all doing well and her new single “Talk To Me” is at No 3 ( as of 28th August). Another single from last year has become a line-dance favourite “Turn To Stone”. These 3 singles are included on her new 10 track CD, her first full length album, on Pacific. Her sound is guitar-based country, polished and modern, as good as any from today’s Nashville sounding hits. There’s fiddle, mandolin, dobro, harmonica and slide guitar included and Lynne’s voice is never overshadowed. Her distinctive voice is appealing on the up-tempo songs and even more appealing on the slow smouldering ballads. The piano-keyboard player Al Rodgers produced and mixed the CD which was recorded in Vancouver and completed in June this year. Lynne writes one song herself and co-writes another 3.On a recent radio tour in the UK Lynne visited Scotland and promises to return here with her band and her distinctive country sound. (10 songs run 39 minutes) OTHER TRACKS:-Soft place-Why be blue-Make it on my own-Lies-Silence says it all-Sometimes in my dreams-The doctor.
