Album Notes

Recording artists Kevin Brislin and Fred Nowicki are featured on the second CD release from the group “now that they're here." The CD, entitled “Auschwitz Bound” features 15 songs written primarily by Kevin Brislin and recorded at his studio, “banzai tollbooth” over a two year period. The CD features Kevin playing keyboards, drums, percussion, noise toys, and all vocals. Fred Nowicki was recruited to play acoustic and electric guitar tracks on the recordings, and decided to join Kevin full-time.

The music, sometimes dark and brooding, sometimes very tongue-in-cheek, features a deep production style that Kevin thought was appropriate for the type of music he wrote. The songs are mostly in the rock vein, although there are forays into avant garde, electronic, and alternative styles for certain pieces.

“Sometimes I think that the CD is telling a story, but not in a concept-album kind of way,” says Brislin. “The subject matter of all the songs seem to relate in certain ways, but don't depend on each other to make the message heard.”

Featuring samples, odd instrumentation (like the Zoob Tube on "Quell", among others), and controversial subject matter, now that they're here's latest release challenges all those who felt they knew what the group was about.
