mamaSutra proudly presents their latest CD "Get Your Groove On" :: A Live Recording at the World Famous Radio Recorders. mamaSutra joins the prestigious ranks of Elvis, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and many others by setting up and laying it down at this historic Los Angeles studio.

Friends, Family, and Funky Freaks got together in Studio 56 for a late night party full of merriment and mayhem. The funk was flying high and now you can catch some for yourself.

Deep grooves and sexy vocals punctuate jamming improvisations that keep fans coming back for more. The highly danceable funk the band provides is a testimony to the live experience and is best enjoyed in the company of others. The Southern California-based foursome brings to mind bands such as Sly and the Family Stone and early 70s Grateful Dead with their organ-heavy funk, jazzy saxophone, ripping guitar and sensual vocals while still somehow pushing their sound in such a new direction it creates it's own category... THE NEW FUNK.

    I have a problem with this music. I can't stop playing it! Its as if the play button is continuously on in my mind, and the tall white ones are forcing deep life experiences on me.

  • Such An Appropriate Title!!!!

    The title of this cd says it all!! If you want it funky, phat, & flat out groovin', then this is the disc to get!! It makes parts of your body move, that you didn't know could move. Straight up, this band is tighter then a gnat's ass & even the gnat would want to dance all night. When will the next one be comin' out folks!?!?!?!

    High energy but not hyper. Definately funky, sexy and playful. I get ta tappin da ol' foot and before I know it, I'm a dancin round like a fool lost in sum kinna rockin jam & jelly fest. In other words...yeh, I like it. Thank you.

    This band is so very hot. If you haven't seen them in person, then this is the next best thing. The funk and movement of their music will get your blood moving, and maybe your body. Slamming. Bamming.

    funk at its finest, with killer guitar licks and wicked bass loops. lyrics could have been a little better, as well as the quality of the cd, which will not play on any cd player in my house without skipping (except on the computer) The cd also came in a pouch made out of poster baord instead of a jewel case.
