Reviews:
"We receive well over 30 new releases each month at Nevada Public Radio but few measure up to the latest release of pianist Julianne Markavitch, Tarantella. The repertoire is exciting and engaging; her artistry is far above many major artists, and the recording quality outshines many major labels. We're looking forward to her future releases and tours!" - John Clare, KNPR Radio
"Markavitch puts her confident stamp on each Tarantella, deftly balancing her flashing technical agility and their wild insousciance. Their diversity is dizzying."
- William Stibor, Nebraska Public Radio
"Tarantella (Spider Dance) is both imaginative and fanciful--the performances by Markavitch are a delight in musical contrasts." - Jeff Skibbe, 88.7 KXMS/Fine Arts Radio International
"Julianne Markavitch sparkles with enthusiasm in all 25 tarantellas on this Starlight AZ compact disc. Her playing exudes the giddiness and rhythm that is the spirit of the tarantella. Each selection is dynamic and virtuosic, but still maintains the sense of exuberance that is a vital element of this dance form. I challenge you to listen to this CD without tapping your toes with joy--or even getting up and dancing a jig! I thoroughly enjoyed Julianne's compact disc, and I know our listeners at KBAQ will delight in it also." - Janine Miller, KBAQ Radio
"I absolutely love Julianne Markavitch's new CD, Tarantella (Spider Dance)! Her performance is a joy to listen to and the recording quality is outstanding. I can't wait to share it with my listeners." - Kacky Walton, WKNO Radio
"Who would have thought that so many composers had written their interpretations of a little dance in 6/8 time that was meant to sweat out the venom of a spider? Pianist Julianne Markavitch has recorded a quite thorough overview of the Tarantella, with versions composed by such well-known folks as Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, MacDowell and Rubinstein, to name but a few. The CD's recording quality shows off the piano and pianist nicely." - John Pitman, KBPS Radio
"The works on Julianne Markavitch's CD, Tarantella (Spider Dance), are well-performed. The concept and repertoire are loads of fun. We look forward to future recordings." - Sam Burke, WHQR Radio
"What a fine performance of the Tarantella by Nicolas Flagello. I think that it's the best I've heard of that piece!" - Walter Simmons, Music Critic
"That Julianne is so gifted is really a gift to us, her fans." - Charles Goyette, KFYI Radio
"Julianne Markavitch is taking the piano world by storm. She is winning fans worldwide with her personal style of piano performance. Never has the piano sounded so alive!"
- Nicole Godburn, Beethoven Radio
"Ms. Markavitch's albums are proficiently performed, brilliantly recorded, and just plain fun to listen to. The more Beethoven Radio listeners hear, the more they request it." - Eric Michaels, Beethoven Radio

Love it!
author: Lisa C.I love this CD. I bought it for the Pieczonka Tarantella (which is very good), and I find that I also love the performance of many of the other tarantellas on the CD. Highly recommended:)

Fun and interesting music!
author: Barry WehrliThis recording gives the listener a variety of different tarantellas and is interesting from beginning to end. As a piano instructor, I can use this CD as a good reference for my students to listen to in order to better understand that style. Thanks!
