Marta started her musical studies at the age of six in her native Colombia when she entered the Liceo Benalcazar choir being its soloist for ten years. In 1993 Marta moved to the capital of her country to continue her musical studies at the Javeriana University and In the summer of 1999 she entered the Berklee College of Music where she received the "Best Achievement Scholarship"; and the "Alex Ulanowsky" composition award before graduating magna cum laude under the Professional Music degree program. With more of 70 songs composed, She has also developed an extensive studio career recording for radio and TV for more than ten years in her native Colombia, and three years in the states.
In December of 2001, Marta had a tour to Argentina and the World Rhythm Calendar (Boston) chose her as the artist of the month for October 2002 and June 03. The SIBL Project (Songs Inspired By Literature) chose Marta's song "Paula Ausente" as the Best Song inspired by a Latin American writer and it was released on their CD on march of 2003 among other artists such as Tom Waits and David Bowie.
In April of 2003 Bonnie Raitt chose Marta as the artist ti oppen her show with John Mayer at the Orpheum Theater in Boston.

author: tlrLike others, i bought this after getting 2 later releases. This is just as nice. Marta Gomez is a very talented young artist with highly refined taste in material. Highly recommended. I agree....time for a live album.
Wonderful CD

Encontre que aqui los vendian y no dude en hacerlo. Los recibi a tiempo de una empresa que ademas de seria me parecio de gente muy divertida ( un hurra por eso), asi que ahora disfruto todos y cada uno de los temas de esta maravillosa cantante y compatriota.

They followed up after they sent the product to see if I had received it and if I had any problems. Great experience all around.

It contains a wide range of tunes, both her own compositions and covers of traditional songs from different Latin American countries. It's well worth the money, but I must admit that I wish it captured the depth of her live performances a little better.
