MARWOOD
Hello to you!
I'm Benji and well I'm also Marwood. That is to say that I sing, write, make records and perform under the name Marwood. It's a long story as to why, but that's where it is for now anyhow!
If I'm not playing shows I ought to be, and if I'm not writing songs I'd better get back to it, as this is what puts a big old smile on my face!
I am currently musically based between New York and London (where I was born), but spend precious little time in either, as life seems to have been one never ending and ridiculously fun string of shows where ever good folks will have me.
I am blessed to have some of the finest musicians that I have ever met play with me on my records and live, and they include: Nic D'Amato, Mike Talbot, Matt Johnson, Rob Calder, Sarab Singh, John Embree, Matt Beck, Gerald Menke, Rob Overbey, Brett Conti, Emily Zuzik, Leslie Mendelson, Nell Bryden, Ernie Fortunado, Dave Boyle...
I have made seven official records, if you count E.P's and live records which I'm very proud of: "Another Day Gone" (which is under the name "Ben Rogers Band" and is from way back in the day) "Regular Fips" (Currently sold out in CD but is available in digital) "The Blue E.P." "One Mile Down The Road" "Marwood Live At Rockwood 2006-2007" "A Few More Days"
Let's see what else? I like to read, I enjoy a fine whisky (or whiskey) I have no favorite color (or colour) and my goal is to spend less time on the cell phone and more time at the piano this year. There is more music on my Ipod that I can ever listen too, though I still prefer the vinyl! and the only sport I like is Hockey, and I like the Rangers though it is breaking my heart right now!
Keep in touch and thanks for reading and for listening.
Cheers to you in 2008!

Something Good To Show For It
author: Frank Gutch Jr.A mixing board tape for real Marwood fans, who'd a thunk it? Benji Rogers plays solo here, with the occasional guest, working his way through a small portion of Marwood's playlist. A fine voice meets great stage presence in a home club bar. You couldn't ask for more. Especially nice are solo versions of the best two tracks on Marwood's 'One Mile Down the Road' album: 'One Mile Down the Road' and 'Nothing Good To Show For It'. Excellent tracks from the guy who wrote them.
