YEARS OF PILGRIMAGE, THIRD YEAR - Franz Liszt
Annees de Pelerinage, Troisieme Annee
Mary Kay Kapustka, Solo Piano
Songs on a Theme of Pilgrimage
John Reschl, Baritone - - Mary Kay Kapustka, Piano
This group of seven solo piano gems stands as a spritual
and psychological living monument to this great composer.
It is one of his lesser known compositions and complete
performances of this work are rare. Written at the end of his life,
it is a deep personal profile of the spiritual psyche of Liszt.
Through the process of absorbing this great work,
the Performer, Mary Kay Kapustka, discovered that this work
has become a very personal expression of her inner being,
serving as a 'memoire' of her life experiences.
The songs chosen to round out this disc are based on the concept of Pilgrimage.
The texts compliment the emotions expressed by the solo piano.
This Disc is a Great Listening Experience for the
Searching, Serious Music Connoisseur.

A really Lisztian virtuoso of 21st century !!!
author: SIDIKThis CD is great ! I love her SURSUM CORDA very much !!! Her playing of Ferenc Liszt's Sursum Corda is divine, I can equally compare Mary with Rudolf Firkusny ( A Czech piano virtuoso), Krystian Zimerman ( A Chopinist virtuoso), and Wilhelm Kempff ( A German Beethoven specialist). Sursum Corda is truly Liszt's introspective work, I think. SIDIK, SEMARANG, JAVA, INDONESIA.
