notes

I got hitched up a few years ago at age 23. Got me a cubicle job 'bout the same time. It didn't take to long to find out that, despite what some will tell you, it wasn't too bad living that kinda existence.

It's bearable as long as a fella has a little outlet. So I got me a geetar on ebay and set to learnin' it. I'm still working on that, but here's where I'm at so far.

I live here in the south. I love the Anthology of Folk Music, Ramblin' Jack, Jimmie Rodgers, and lots of others. Grandma wanted a CD so I made this one with couple of mine I thought she'd like.

I'm Sleepin' In Jodi, You're in Gauly Bridge: I was going to the family reunion over Memorial Day. Grandma demanded I bring my guitar and sing for her. She grew up in Jodi and some of my Aunts and Uncles live across the river in Gauly Bridge (where the Gauly and the New Rivers meet). Before last year, the only way to get to Jodi was across a narrow railroad bridge. So I wrote this tune for them. They whoop and holler and laugh and whoop again when they hear it. I'd love them even if they didn't holler.

I'm S'posed to Change, You Stay the Same: A nice little county pop song.

When My Ship Comes In: A modern day folk song about being in too much debt. Too many of us can relate.
