notes
It has been said by some that the Lord has gifted Bruce with the ability to create and weave beautiful melodies that can paint pictures!
Minister Bruce Clark, currently a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, New Jersey, serves as both an associate minister and the Minister of Music under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Richard W. Jones. Employed by the School District of Philadelphia as a Center Leader/Director at the Martin Comprehensive Early Learning Center since 1971, his music career began at age three, when he began studying the violin. While in elementary school, Min. Clark started singing and playing the piano, organ and guitar. He also studied drama and dance, and later became a dance instructor.
As a member of the West Philadelphia High School String Quartet, Min. Clark received a scholarship to The Philadelphia Musical Academy. However, shortly thereafter, he transferred to Temple University and did most of his undergraduate studies there as a Music Education major. Finally, after taking courses at Burlington County College and Cheyney University, the Lord helped Bruce to pull it all together and he graduated from Thomas Edison State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.
Minister Clark says that his greatest musical inspiration and influence is still his mother, Claudine (Clark) Hicks who was also a church organist, vocalist, poet, thespian, and composer. (She penned and sang the hit recording, "Party Lights" in 1961, but left show business to return to her children and her church).
Min. Clark says, "I feel my music is a testimony of my love for, and my relationship with, the Lord. These musical expressions, these instrumental outpourings are inspired by Him through this sweet communion. It is through the Holy Spirit's indwelling that we sometimes get into the 'zone'."
Let the pictures painted by these beautiful melodies help you reflect on the wonders of God!
