notes
For the past seven years, songwriters Bradley Roger and Steve Drennen (out of St. Louis, Missouri) have submitted more than 30 songs to publishers/producers across the country. Along the way, they met legendary Nashville producer, Scotty Turner of Buried Treasure Music. He encouraged them to release their own CD. It not only put new demands on them; it would test their 21-year friendship.
With the release of their "self-titled" CD, Middle Ground enlisted a strong group of musicians including:
Veteran Lead Guitarist- B. Koolmann,(formly "Dark Horses") Bassist- Bill Wolf, and newcomer Jason Bruns on Drums/Percussion. Front man -- Steve Drennen plays a strong acoustic guitar and handles the lead vocals.
The band combines modern acoustic-rock and blues with a little retro. While the lyrics express everything from social/political messages to love and human condition. Either way -- The music and the message comes straight from the soul.
A good CD in which the song takes "centerpiece," but the musicians make the show.

"Solid Song Structure"
author: TAXI - Custom CritiqueGuitar melodies are solid - have energy and move from section to section. These guys have a fun, warm , upbeat sound. There are strong influences coming through - classic rock and singer-songwriter.
"a very consistent CD"
author: Scott Turner, Buried Treasure Music,Nashville, TNCreative songwriting is their best asset
author: BeverlyThese guys can write!! The music is very good but the songwriting is AWESOME. I would recommend this CD to anyone who like artist like: Tom Petty, James Taylor, Lynard Skynard (track 2 kinda has that skynard feel) or even a little Rolling Stones (some of the lead guitar tracks sound like Kieth Richards is playing them himself). It still all comes down to the songs.....Silicon Dream, and Panel 45E are my favorites. Hope to see more from this group
A CD in which there is a song for every one
author: Four-FiveStrong Guitar, Solid drums, bluesy bass, heavy lyrics, intense vocals, and done by first time producers. Good Debut Effort with a low budget, indeed. Each Musician stays within the structure of the song without overpowering one or the other. Very well mixed and Blend. Vocals are fair. Need more work to reach that big label sound. Yet, the song writing may be as good as anything on the major market.
