Mickael Maddison - AKA "Mike-guyver" as per the nickname given by Jonathan Anthony, bass player extraordinaire, is the kind of guy that seems to excel at whatever he's doing at the time.
This holds true when you look over his recent start into music. Mickael had long been drumming, playing guitar, and writing songs when his wife, Kim, suggested it was time to make a permanent record of his work and record it onto a CD. Having never performed or recorded before, Mickael sought out James Lipoth whom had recently completed the producing and recording of a CD project. Before the project was finished, the tracks "When I'm Free" and "Drink" were already receiving airplay.
"I really had no idea that my music was something people would want to listen to", says Mickael. "It was supposed to be something just for myself, my family and my friends. Things have gone a lot further than I could have imagined." Whatever the case may be, his music has led him to form a live trio and become a regular performer.
New drummer, Doug McCallum, took over drumming duties early in 2008. "Are you guys this geeky in real life?" (this from the guy who they found on craigslist) "I like how these guys take music seriously, and let me drum as I see fit."
When asked about the great response they receive from live performances, Jonathan jumps in, "We know our music sounds good enough live to turn it down so you can actually hear it".
A fact confirmed at a show in Kelowna where the crowd broke out laughing at the start of 'Something Missing'. "Just before that song, someone asked us to let people know she'd lost her phone." recounts Mickael. "Well, The first line of that song begins with 'My cell phone rings...' it was one of those great moments you only get when you're tight with the crowd."

Can't wait for the next album!
author: TwoBabySheGreat first album. 'When I'm Free' and 'Blowing in the Wind' stand out as my favorites, but I keep the whole CD on repeat. I'll be first in line for Mickael's next release!
Loved the CD. Nice and refreshing having real-life experiences at the forefront
author: David CLoved the CD. Its somehow refreshing to listen to songs where the artist brings their own real life experiences straight into your headset. Enjoyed the video twist on Friends
Great classically Canadian sound! Catchy lyrics. Solid beats.
author: Dave ZirnheltI listen to Free all the time! Everyone I play it for loves it as well. 'When I'm Free' is a great title track, but I can't decide if my favourite is 'Drink' or 'Castle on a Cloud'. I predict more radio play for this amazing debut album!
