Gary Wickizer has been doing his "Folk-n-Blues" roots style of music for more than 30 years, playing his brand of country-blues in the style of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" since before the guy was lost. Mo' Kauffey was born in 1999 and music became the full time career, 22 years after his 1st professional performance in 1977. Mo' performs about 150 dates a year
from coffeehouses to festivals.
Mo' had released four independent CDs since 2000 with radio airplay across North America, through Europe, and as far away as Australia. His fifth, titled "Whatcha' Gonna Do" was released in December 2003.
He's done TV and live radio both as an interview and a musical guest.
Mo' has shared the stage with multiple Handy Award recipient Mel Brown and Kitchener's own Shawn Kellerman. He has shared billing with such greats as Lucky Peterson, Otis Taylor and Eric Burdon.
Many influences have blended to create Mo's unique style. When he plays,
Greg Brown or Mark Knopfler are two that might come to mind. Fellow musicians seem to gravitate toward him, want to play along on his songs. What is it about Mo' Kauffey that captures the audience and makes him fans wherever he plays? Maybe it's the man; maybe it's the voice or
the delivery. Whatever it is, it works!
From ballads to blues, Mo' Kauffey is an artist that entertains his audience, keeps them smiling and wanting more.

Very impressed with the Mo' Kauffey CD
author: Glen WickizerI bought this CD without knowing what he sounded like. We have the same last name and I too play guitar so when I seen his name I thought what the heck. Well!I was pleasently surprised to hear how great this CD is.

A must for any blues fan!
author: Edmond RamseyI absolutely love this cd: I runs the gambit from humorous, soulful, rockin' and originality. Mo's rendetion of "Sixteen Tons" is great. The Musicianship is superb and Mo's vocals ring pure blues.
This CD should not be missed
author: Glenda WestMo Kauffey's music explores the whole gamut of human experience - from joy and love to loneliness and loss. His guitar style is very rhythmic, complex and expressive. He has a rare talent and his genuine love for music comes through on this recording. The tune "Charlie Hates the Blues" is addicting. This CD should have a place in the collection of all lovers of acoustic guitar.
Listening to Kauffey’s new CD leaves you yearning for Mo’
author: Bill Reed, The Gazette of Colorado SpringsTitle: “Whatcha Gonna Do” by Mo’ Kauffey. Style: Country blues Personnel: Mo’ Kauffey (guitar and vocals); Mel Brown (Hammond organ and guitar); Ken Brown (bass, guitar and vocals); Dave Colter (drums); Max Bent (guitar); Ken Moores (harmonica); Derrick Chapman (seven-string guitar); John Havlicek (piano). What this guy is all about: Kauffey is a Pueblo native who has played his music on the Front Range for many years. Here lately, though, he went and married a Canadian woman and moved to Ontario. He visits Colorado several times a year, but this visit has been extended by visa problems. Kauffey will be playing in town until June. Sources of inspiration: Lightnin’ Hopkins, Jorma Kaukonen, Roger Miller. What “making it” would look like: “Just make my music, and pay my bills and live comfortably,” Kauffey says. “I don’t have any false dreams about being Metallica. There’s a lot of room in the middle to live a comfortable life playing music.” His most rock star moment: “Sharing the stage with Mel Brown at a songwriters workshop,” Kauffey says. “(Shoot), I love it all. I just dig performing.” CD vitals: 14 songs, 45 minutes, produced by Ken Brown and Mo’ Kauffey. Test drive: Song samples at www.mokauffey.com Available at: Independent Records, www.cdbaby.com, www.mokauffey.com and gigs. Review: Like sitting in a rocker on the front porch. Like an afternoon at your favourite fishin’ hole. Like a float trip down a lazy river. Mo’ Kauffey’s country blues is about as easy going as music can get. Don’t go thinking that means his music is boring, because it’s not. But his album “Whatcha Gonna Do” offers up quiet pleasures rather than lightning and thunder. His voice is effortless and soulful. His guitar work intricately weaves its way through the music. His guests offer delicious textures without overpowering the songs. This tasteful collection of tunes will have you hankering for mo’ Mo’
Whatcha Gonna Do With Those Oh' Brother Blues?
author: Harmonica BuzzThis is a charming and honest album with so many songs that will sink right into your soul. Mo' Kauffey has that rather rare and unique ability of being able to invite listeners and other musicians into his songs so that they can really become a part of it. His band's interpretation of Sixteen Ton's is a must hear ... but it is the warmth and slow burning flame of Mo's originals that really carry this album. "Whatcha Gonna Do" (track 3) and "Celebrate" (track 4) defines what he does, "I Just Sing" (track 6) and "Charlie Hates the Blues" (track 7) reaffirms this while "In the Snow" (track 11) is a song for the times that asks you to discover your rightful and peaceful place in this world. Whatcha Gonna Do??? Just say Mo to music.
Music that pulls you in and can't help but feel a part of.
author: Rosita WickizerWhatcha Gonna Do? Sit back and feel, not just hear. On this CD Mo's songs make you feel as if you are a part of what he is singing about. You will laugh with the song Charlie, have happy tears when you listen to Celebrate, commiserate with Faded Love, and the title track Whatcha Gonna Do encourages one to think. Each song brings an experience we have all, at one time or another, had. It's obvious listening to Whatcha Gonna Do that the words and music come from the heart. Beautiful harmonious blend from the back up musicians. A CD one can listen to over and over in any scenario, whether you need something upbeat to get your feet going or you need something mellow to kick back with, this is it! Just say Mo' to music!!!!
