notes
Mr. Midas was born in Compton, CA and raised primarily in Long Beach, CA. Midas' upbringing included stops in the surrounding Los Angeles areas, Detroit and Denver. At the age of 6, he began to write songs about the poverty and drug infested areas he and his family resided in. At a young age, his musical influences included his mother- who had recently opted out of her own live band with her brothers, and his father- who had been an avid writer in his own right.
Often played around the house were Motown favorites, Parliament Funkadelic, Michael Jackson, Kurtis Blow, LL Cool J, Tina Turner, and a host of others that created a diverse background for what is now known as "Midas Music".
While in Los Angeles, he had the opportunity to work with "The Wylde Bunch", a hip hop band presently signed with World Movement Records, and Tren, "Tren Setta", an underground icon in Southern California area who was recenlty named THE SOURCE MAGAZINE'S UNSIGNED HYPE (JULY 2003). Midas did a variety of performances from Will Rogers Park in Watts to conferences at Pepperdine University in Malibu to host of major showcases sponsored by major and minor labels.
After perfecting and honing his style, he decided to move to Denver, CO. Strange choice you say? "Hardly", says Midas. "Denver is a budding city with tremendous growth and opportunity for new artists to establish themselves".
Midas started his own record label, Jagadan Records, and publishing company, Taj Asahi Publishing, in hopes of giving the world quality music with purpose. He plans to feature himself as an artist and continuously grow into a powerhouse in the music industry.
Since moving to Denver, Midas has been hard at work on his debut album, "Malitov Cocktails", featuring superior production from Cavalear, Payback, and K.P. Noticing the lacking content in the music industry today, Midas set out to create songs that covered the range of emotion and subject matter that his listeners have grown accustomed to expecting from him to produce.
These tracks include standouts such as "Domestic Violence", "Get that Paper","U Can't Relate", and "What U in a Gang 4?" among countless others.
The streets are talking, "Mr. Midas is the real deal"!!!!

NICE
author: ThugLifeI give 4 stars, cause i think that the album is not perfect but a very good album though. With this shit, he brings the westcoast definitely back.Midas mixed the album with nice westcoast beats and very good lyrics, so thats what the west needs, a switch in lyricalism and Midas is the best model for that.
Get Ready for Mr. Midas
author: KJ McCalisterYou may not have heard of Mr. Midas, but that is about to change. On his cd Malitov Cocktails, Mr. Midas shows that he is ready to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the rap industry. The cd starts off with the hard hitting song "Cocktails" and Mr Midas never relents. In addition to the hard hitting beats Mr Midas has a nice flow, he has tracks with hooks that keep bouncing around inside your brain like "Look Who's Laughing Now", and you can tell that he puts effort into his lyrics. All you have to do is listen to the hit song "Domestic Violence" and you will know why it would be a mistake to sleep on this cd. Mr. Midas get ready for the industry to let you in.

MR MIDAS IS BRINGING THAT REAL LIFE SHIT
author: SADDAMGreat ass intro, great way to get shit started and what not. Cocktails & Cant Get Right is a little more light hearted joints that are just to let you get in touch with what the homeboy gotta say. Set the mood pretty dope for shit to come. Next track is a skit from an interview with some English bitch. Damn this shit really set the stage for the rest of the album. He tellin it how it is about the industry n what not. U Cant Relate is a dope ass cut, repping that street life and hustle shit. You gotta love this track. Domestic violence is a dope cut but then the intro to Longshot is dope as all fuck, its called Open Letter. I love the piano shit. Longshot (Ghetto Anthem) is one of my fav tracks on the joint. I wish the beat was a lil darker but it did the job. This shit is straight street. What You In A Gang 4 is str8 heat, dope ass beat and Midas tell a great story. Love Takes Time is a dope ass cut and the cat singing the hook got a good ass voice. My Own World is str8 gangsta street thug shit. Dont get harder than this shit. DONT SLEEP!!!! This album is the real life underground shit your waiting for.
