The original Shine double 7" was recorded mostly in the summer of 1989 after the band (which then included Scott Pickering and Chris Burgess of Prisonshake) returned from a European tour. The versions of many old songs from previous MDID records were being played in a vastly different way from their recorded versions and we wanted to document that sound, which for all intents and purposes was the first time MDID was a "real" band. The original vinyl version was a numbered limited edition of 1500 with multiple colored discs.
