Jam-packed Rock laced with Jazz/Funk and other stuff that makes pirates dance.

notes

At first listen, the classic nature of Namasté’s brand of rock becomes evident. Laced with jazz, funk. and reggae overtones, this group of four musicians from the Midwest have been influenced and inspired by a plethora of musical styles to create something that is all their own.
Namasté’s latest creative endeavor Homecoming Kings reveals a band at the dawning of their creative prime, combining thoughtful lyrics and intelligent composition with passion and soul. Conceptually, the album documents the last day of a man's life and his journey to his after-life. "This album is very close to my heart as it parallels some very personal events in my life," explains, Stephen Horning. Completely self-produced from the concept to the mastering, this album called upon the combined knowledge and experience of the whole band to be created; almost a “destined” feat.
The band continues to play rounds in various venues throughout the Midwest, all a part of the grassroots ideology that Namasté has incorporated into their process. The live experience is the pride of the band and continues to evolve with every show. Attendees frequently attest to their uplifted spirits and joy that continues for weeks after the show.
As Namasté enters it’s seventh year, hope and excitement mix with the ever growing passion and dedication to the project that is the life of its members.

Namasté - (namastay) - a greeting; one possible translation - I honor the place in you in which the universe resides, and when you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, we are as one.

funky, groovy, mellow... all of the above and more an improvement on the already good Namaste CD i own

  • Funky jam band music with reggae rhythms

"Homecoming Kings" is the long awaited follow up to Namaste's debut, the now hard-to-find "Catalyst". It's a funkier piece of work and features a more reggae-based sound, with a bit of Traffic thrown in for good measure. Live, Namaste like to stretch out with covers by the likes of Steely Dan but, as on "Catalyst", "Homecoming Kings" features all original songs. This is a very well crafted album and should appeal to jam band fans, Deadheads and anyone who enjoys 60s/70s rock.

This album is great. Every song is like fillet mignon for the ears. The album art alone is enough to warrant purchase.
