notes
In 1999, Mark Holmes, David Barrett and Sascha, released their self titled cd "no.9". The cd was written, arranged and produced by "no.9". It was recorded in Toronto at Spike Sound Studios, engineered by Spike and mixed by Spike and Lerxst. With two thirds (Mark and Sascha) of "no.9" being former "Platinum Blonde" members, the band name was short lived. In the summer of 1999, "no.9" changed their name to "Platinum Blonde '99", and toured Canada extensively to sell out crowds in support of both the new "no.9" cd, and the "Platinum Blonde" greatest hits package, "Seven Year Itch". The cd features 10 tracks plus a hidden 11th track, (an alternate vocal version of the lead off track, "Alright"). Alex Lifeson is featured on keyboards (not guitar!) on the 10 minute + epic, "My Time". Guest background vocals: Bobbi Guy, Kenny Maclean, Kathryn Rose.

Killer c.d. Just like old Platinum Blonde, but with a newer twist. A must for ant Platinum Blonde fan.
Great stuff! Moody, atmospheric, melodic, haunting...Holmes at his best.
author: DeannaLove it! Have missed Platinum Blonde, but this is a much more modern style of music, moody, atmospheric, haunting...Holmes is at his best vocally in this album since the lesser-known P.B. songs, "Out of Time" and "Father Christmas/Pere Noel". Excellent work, guys. Thanks!

Fantastic.. I really Wish platnum blonde would do a new full fledge album.. I have been looking all over for this cd. Was a real treat to hear new stuff from PB.... But I want more...
CD is fantastic. I originally heard the CD performed live at the Palace in Calgary, Alberta, Canada by No. 9 (A.K.A. Platinum Blonde 99), a few years ago to a packed and enthusiastic crowd. Mark Holmes lead vocals and Bass guitarist has one of the most distint and amazing voices. the CD has grown on me more and more with each listen. D. Barrett has a unique style of guitar playing which comes off on this CD just perfect. I am still in hopes of the CD from Platinum Blonde "Are you sitting comfortably" to be released with some of these same tracks on that CD.
