notes
Rapper NRun, born David Tonsall, began his musical career as a way to vent his frustration with the judiciary proceedings progressing at a snail's pace against his former employer Enron Corporation. The company filed one of the nation's largest bankruptcies and laid off thousands of workers.
Recognizing that the pen is mightier than the sword, and, that the "mic" is mightier than the pen, NRun used the remnants of his retirement savings (severely reduced by losses tied to company stock), to fund the recording project.
He received enthusiastic moral support not only from ex-Enron employees, but also from others around the country who felt betrayed, mislead and cheated by corporate corruption.
The musical style is simple yet powerful lyrics on top of funky Hip Hop beats. NRun has been compared to Public Enemy with his keen sense of social/political awareness.
NRun has a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a master's degree in Management of Technology. And, it was this formal training that provided the discipline necessary to complete a high quality Hip Hop sound.
NRun plans to continue to use "the mic" to voice concerns regarding social injustices and other political issues facing citizens in the national community.
His debut CD releases December 3, 2003.
