notes

Of Infinity was conceptualized and born in 1999 by founding members, guitarist Nazareth Sando (formally of Little Rock's Fallen Empire and vocalist/synthasist Alessandra Zinicola. Living hundreds of miles apart, Nazareth and Alessandra began flying cross the US between New Jersey and Arkansas to develop them selves and their music. Their quest for adept band members has taken them on all sides of the country with notable stops in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, New Jersey, and Utah but they have since settled in San Antonio, Texas. The band writes, records, and plays music that is as intense and beautiful as can be created. Described as heavy, gothic, doom, progressive, and melodic, and likened to such bands as Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Nightwish, and Theatre Of Tragedy, Of Infinity is appealing to fans of all styles of metal and hard rock. With an uncompromising drive, Of Infinity continues to bring into being breathtaking metal...metal that's powerful, metal that's melodic, metal that's dark...the metal Of Infinity.

Well, there's not much to say that hasn't already been said. Of Infinity has made some amazing songs here, and they've certainly gained a new fan in me. The guitar blends so well with Alessandra's voice, and the classical instruments and heavy guitar blasts come in at just the right time. When they release a full CD, I'm definitely buying it.

  • Awesome!

Three awesome songs, if they decide on making a full CD I'll definately buy it.

  • "...paints the pathway to the soul with musical colors..."
    author: Raichyl Nelson

"A brilliant shade of gothic music is how one might describe Of Infinity's new release of "The Essence of Infinity." The album is vibrant with the flavor of pure emotion. Not only that but the band has enough musical talent to carry the soul that is "The Voice Without," "Shadow of a Lie" and "It's Only Forever." This EP brings to all of us that piece of serenity within melodious walls and gives us something that we can get lost in. Recommended for fans of Nightwish, Opeth and Evanescence. In short, "Of Infinity paints the pathway to the soul with musical colors and classical perfection.""

  • With talent such as this, great things should be expected from them in the futur
    author: Bedlam Society (Morley Seaver)

"Fans of Lacuna Coil or Evanescence should rejoice, because there’s a new kid on the block, Of Infinity. The Texas-based quartet has put out an EP that is full of the goth-tinged metal that defines the other bands. Unlike than the others however, there is more of a metal bend than the more commercial approach of the likes of Evanescence. Despite the piano, acoustic guitar, violins and other more tranquil aspects of the EP, the guitars are barbed wire sharp, and the pace is steady. There are three tracks on the EP, all of which have various passages, mostly majestic verses building up to exquisite choruses. The material is fronted by the clear and impressive vocals of Alessandra Zinicola. All of the three songs have a really well defined melody line, and work as both instrumentally exciting and as actual structured songs, something that doesn’t always happen with this type of material. With talent such as this, great things should be expected from them in the future."

  • This is a tremendous EP that bubbles over with poise and talent.
    author: NowOnTour

"I wasn't expecting the blast of powerful music that is contained on Of Infinity's debut EP, The Essence Of Infinity... This is melodic goth-metal at its best...The entrancing vocals of Alessandra Zinicola are the focal point for the band, as she effortlessly scales the heights like a bird...The first cut, "The Voice Without" starts off with a blast of chords and a regal-sounding guitar intro before giving away to a double-bass fury...The song is expertly paced...Acoustic guitar and piano are cleverly woven in places to help give some depth to the piece..."Shadow Of A Lie" begins with a restrained, troubadour-esque intro that soon steps aside for a furious attack. Complete with an inviting violin spiritedly leading the charge, the combinations of sounds are lethal...A splendid solo rips the band back into gear as the song swings towards its conclusion..."It's Only For Forever" is an awesome track that begins with a gritty guitar passage over a piano backdrop...I can't wait to see what Of Infinity has in store for us in the future."

  • "I would definitely keep an eye on them."
    author: Metal Invader

"Of infinity are a trio that plays some atmospheric metal in the vein of the now unfortunately defunct, Dreams of Sanity. In fact their singer Alessandra sound a lot like Sandra, one of the initially two DOS vocalists. She's trained and all, and a Leelee Sobieski lookalike...Some interested ideas...They do show a lot of promise...The melodic lines of the choruses are pretty good...this was the only demo I reviewed that really had some solid musicianship in tow. I would definitely keep an eye on them."

  • "...what they are presenting here is musically high qualitative..."
    author: Karin Zenzinger

"This 3-track release The Essence Of Infinity by USA based Of Infinity can be compared with Finnish Nightwish or with the Dutch project Within Temptation, both dating back to 1996. Like the mentioned bands, Of Infinity present female fronted melodic metal. Both the voice of Alessandra -quite similar to the one of Nightwish's Tarja- and also the Metal based background sound allow a comparison to the Finnish melodic metal formation. Even though influences of the band include Lacuna Coil, Tristania or Iron Maiden, who are named by the band members themselves, Of Infinity do not come across as a cheap copy project, far from it indeed. These musicians seem to take out the best parts of their idols and fuse it together in a own style...what they are presenting here is musically high qualitative and clearly produced. The 3 tracks cover from powerful metal beats to emotional sounds..."

  • "Okay, now this is kind of interesting!"
author: The One True Dead Angel

"Okay, now this is kind of interesting -- operatic metal from San Antonio, Texas that fuses elements of death metal, folk music, goth, and opera into something resembling a collision between Opeth, October Project, Fear of God (the metal band, not the hardcore one) and Mercyful Fate. In other words, expect lots of drama, soaring keyboards, abrupt shifts of tempo and texture, and above all, excellent vocals from Alessandra Zinicola, who has an impressive vocal range. This style of hybrid metal has surged forward in popularity since bands like Lacuna Coil and Evanescence started heaving up piles of platinum records, but Of Infinity -- who've been together for over five years -- pretty much predates all of that. The band behind Zinicola (Nazareth Sando -- guitars, Kurtis Kyllo -- bass, and Carlos Teller -- drums) includes former members of Fallen Empire, Pinkeye, and April Death, and they're all excellent, which is hardly surprising since you have to know just a wee bit more than basic bar chords to play music this complex. The three songs are all long enough to allow for plenty of changes in tempo, intensity, and texture without getting bogged down, and everything sounds excellent -- the recording and production are excellent throughout. This disc passes the DEAD ANGEL air guitar test as well. Fans of Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, Dream Theater, and the like should find this of interest."

  • "...buy their debut album when it’s inevitably released by Century Media..."
    author: chaossphere

"This is well produced, precisely played and professionally packaged...the guitar sound is quite full and there’s a decent amount of muscular melodic riffing and some well-composed lead breaks...So yeah, it’s glossy, somewhat heavy and very, very slick...As it stands, this band has the potential to go far. They’re certainly a pretty bunch...An entire album of this would sell hundreds-upon-thousands of copies...the demo comes on a pro-pressed CD in a nice glossy purple cardsleeve...this band is going to sell lots of albums...they obviously believe in what they’re doing."

  • If this EP is their essence, Of Infinity should take no time to be recognised
    author: Sick Among The Pure

"Currently unsigned, last year Of Infinity released The Essence of Infinity, a three-song EP that has obvious comparisons to Pop-Goth rockers Evanescence, if for nothing else than the vocal similarity between Alessandra and Amy Lee. However, the comparison between the two bands is purely superficial; Of Infinity incorporates a more complex song structure evidenced on “The Voice Without”, which comes across like Lacuna Coil with extremely good production. “Shadow of a Lie” clocks in at six-and-a-half minutes, but never seems to drag; while the strong guitars on “It’s Only for Forever” will appeal to fans of ‘80s classic Hair Metal. Self-described as “melodic metal,” Of Infinity is almost what I would call “medieval metal” – weaving together Alessandra’s bewitching vocal and abstract lyrics with stark yet straight-forward guitar and strings. While “It’s Only for Forever” is the most accessible song, “Shadow of a Lie” is really the standout track, showcasing the band’s ability in both orchestra arrangements and atmospheric gloom."

  • A deep sound backed with awesome drums beats and ripping guitar work.
    author: Steve

A very impressive first run and am looking forward to a full CD. The drums and guitar work are exceptional!!!

  • "Of Infinity have produced a stellar album..."
    author: HARM.US/666METAL.COM (Eyeless Sentry)

"For fans of female-fronted metal you’re in for a treat – Of Infinity is the band you’ve been waiting for that pushes the boundaries where bands such as Nightwish and After Forever only dared tread. Of Infinity is a melodic, doom-inspired progressive metal band, that carries with it a fantastic, alto-styled lead vocalist and keyboardist in the form of Alessandra Zinicola...The songwriting is definitely enhanced by the decidedly classicalist approach, adding much more emotion and gravity to the songs through the use of orchestral arrangements. The track Shadow of a Lie utilizes said arrangements to create a darkened, progressive metallic symphony that is captivating in its magnificence and manages to possess a semblance of melancholy. It’s Only for Forever has a fantastic vocal harmony...and leads the listener down a path of exceptionally crafted woe and sorrow. Of Infinity have produced a stellar album in terms of composition, musicianship (which is absolutely blinding; the guitar and keyboard melodies are astounding)...drawing upon influences ranging from classical, metal, gothic and contemporary adult...it must be said that Of Infinity are an exceptionally talented band that left me awestruck after the CD had finished...I wanted to hear more!...It’s been said before and I’ll say it again – It’s an absolute disgrace on the part of major labels that this band hasn’t been signed, because as we say in Australia, it’s a bloody ripper."

  • "...some bands are simply destined for success."
    author: Metal Judgment

"I am struggling to find words elegant enough to describe this beauty filtering through my ears...Each track on this three song demo stands out leaving the listener stunned and wanting more...I have a challenge for you: listen to this a few times and try to not sing along. I bet you can't do it. The song writing capabilities are far above average, you can be guaranteed even the most professional song writers would be envious. It is difficult to stop listening, even after repeated plays. Comparisons to other bands is futile, for Of Infinity truly stand alone. You will be floored...As the music dies out the listener is left with a melancholic feeling. Sadness should not feel this good...It is not often a band so raw in their career write such strong songs. Give this a try now before Of Infinity catches on like wildfire."

  • "...check this band out!"
    author: Music Mayhem

"Female fronted Goth metal in the vein of bands like Evanescence is what Of Infinity is all about. This is a collection of very talented musicians along with beautiful vocals from Alessandra. Also a list of string guest musicians rounds out their sound...I was blown away by how technically proficient they were, both musically, and vocally. Very well recorded...Very cool package that they've put together too."

  • "...dramatic epic sounding progressive metal..."
    author: Music Street Journal

"Of Infinity is a new name on the melodic/progressive metal scene. Don't let that fool you, though as they have a lot of talent..."The Essence of Infinity"...is a three song EP that showcases a band that is quite adept at both songwriting and performing...Zinicola's voice is powerful and beautiful. At times she calls to mind such female vocal powerhouses as Lana Lane, Annie Haslam and Doro Pesch. With a list like that you can't go wrong. And, as the fact that two of those three are prog singers suggests, much of the material here leans heavily toward the prog end of the spectrum. It definitely is heavy metal, but there are a lot of intriguing song structures, attention to melodic sounds and intricate layerings to give this one a major prog touch. Overall this disc is quite good. I'd really like to hear more from the band."

  • "...a little piece of genius..."
    author: Heavy Metal Universe

"Texas isn't just the state of southern rock masters ZZ TOP or the adoption land of the Danish heavy metal genius King Diamond. No, it's also where a cool female-fronted atmospheric heavy metal band comes from, and this band is called OF INFINITY. The three tracks of this demo-cd aren't demo-like at all ! On the contrary, the cd sounds like a very professional stuff, as if it was a release which announced an album to come. Three songs which are as good as they are different from each other, but which possess a strong identity making this cd really cohesive. The first track is an atmospheric heavy metal song in the pure vein of bands such as LACUNA COIL or WITHIN TEMPTATION, and believe me, OF INFINITY will most certainly become a dangerous outsider for these bands. The second track is pretty calm and contains some really excellent guitar riff supported by the great voice of the female singer, but also beautifuly inspired violin. Finaly, the last song is a little piece of genius, with a pretty bluesy feeling and is an absolutely ass kicking hit. So we can just hope that the next step will be the recording of a full-length labelled album."

  • "A professional and talented act..."
    author: Jackal Blaster

"The Essence of Infinity (ep self-release) A female-fronted three piece act from Texas, the unsigned Of Infinity are an impressive, melodic gothic metal act, and the three demo tracks here are well worth attention. The band's sound is based on the melodic gothic European standard- Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Sins of the Beloved, and Theatre of Tragedy. The wonderfully clear and stunning soprano vocals of Alessandra, as well as the incorporation of keys and violins within the songs, result in a romantic aesthetic that gives the ep a vivid majesty...Of Infinity are worth watching out for. This ep is highly recommended to fans of Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Rain Fell Within and Octavia Sperati."

  • "Of Infinity is of talent..."
    author: Power Packer Zine

"Sure, all un-signed bands want to be heard, but how many go about it the professional way? By professional, I mean writing music that can and will compete with many of the singed bands of today, then recording it and making it sound serious. Yeah- this band is serious...Some will call it melodic Metal, some will call it melodic Goth, and will some just call it exciting. For me, all three applies. When wanting to know the sounds of the music, think the bands of either Napalm or Dark Symphonies. Think the Gothic beauty and emotion of Veland-era TRISTANIA, think the progressive Goth of NICODEMUS, and think the angelic sounds of RAIN FELL WITHIN... I know of very few bands in my recollection who have made such a promising and exciting demo. Someone will sign these guys, and gal, to a deal; it's just a matter of seeing where they go from here."

  • "Of Infinity has already caused quite a stir in Europe..."
    author: Hard Beyond Driven

"Of Infinity's lead vocalist Alessandra Zinicola's performance on the CD is really quite breathtaking at times with her extremely powerful operatic vocals which you can hear as far as Heaven. The Essence of Infinity was very well constructed, produced and mixed perfectly. The three tracks on this demo each have their own identity. Lead off track "The Voice Without" focuses on a progressive/ambient sound with the addition of a very nice piano/keyboards for an even more goth like effect. The second track titled "Shadow Of A Lie" adds a different groove and technique to the bands already quite interesting harmonies. Guitar solo's and riffs tackle the second song with a sense of passion. The third track "It's Only For Forever" is my favourite as members Alessandra, Nazareth, and Kurtis have created themselves the most exceptional song thus far which I'm sure has caused a stir already worldwide since it's debut. By far some of the strongest most powerful lyrics belted out by Alessandra with more emotion than you can imagine making Lacuna Coil or Lullacry seem almost dull...if you are looking for something that is fresh sounding, melodic yet dark at the same time? Then look no further, Of Infinity is for real and fits right in with today's Heavy Metal scene."

  • "you should check out this band!"
    author: Mario's Metal Mania

"The band can be described as a gothic/doom metalband with some progressive elements. They play music in the vein of bands like; Nightwish, Evanescence and 7th Circle. Female singer Alessandra has a very clear voice that suits me! The production of this demo is very good and the promopack i received looks awesome!"

  • "These are really good songs."
    author: Abrasive Rock

"To give you an idea of the quality of the music here, the time between the first time I listened to this and the second, was a bit over 3 weeks. And yet, I found myself humming along to some the choruses, having only heard them once. And no, it isn't made for radio crap that is so simplistic you can't help but remember it. These are really good songs. In parts, piano and even violin are featured alongside the guitars and drums. The vocals however, are really the centerpiece for the album. The guitars, for the most part, provide a rhythmic backup to the vocal arrangement. It works very well here, as the vocal lines are very interesting, and the arrangements don't need a frenetic metal riff to make them effective. If you like the girl fronted metal bands, then Of Infinity is right up your alley. But they aren't just a female fronted band, more than that, they are simply a good band who happens to have a female frontwoman. So for us guys, that is just gravy. (Don't worry girls, I am told the guitar player is pretty hot too)."

  • "The music is some of the best I have heard in a long time."
    author: Raging Metal

"Out of the 3 songs the strongest one is... all of them. All 3 songs are done incredibly well. I have tried to think of a fault with the songs but there isn't one...It is very atmospheric if that is even a word and if it isn't then it should be. OK, I just checked that it is indeed a word. Fans of Nightwish and Lacuna Coil sho--no, they need to check out this band. If you are saying to yourself "Hmm, maybe I should go there." Then you should be slapped for even thinking that. Of Infinity have amazing female vocals that draw you into their songs and a guitarist whose playing will keep you in the song."

  • "You should check out Of Infinity..."
    author: Adrenalin Fanzine

"Normally, when I get a CD with female vocals, they are accompanied by deep/death male vocals. However, on this CD, there aren't any male vocals. Alessandra takes on the vocals tasks solo. As her soothing, peaceful voice toys with your emotions, the music toggles between a very laid-back approach (simple yet tastefully done) and a more powerful (heart-filled solos) carry-you-away style of gothic bliss. Along with the basic guitar, bass, and drums set-up, Alessandra shows off her talent on piano/keyboard and a guest musician, Emily Hesterman, put me in awe with her violin intro and outro to track 2, "Shadow Of A Lie". This is a definite change for me from the death & black metal I have been reviewing lately. You should check out Of Infinity at www.ofinfinity.com."

  • "This is certainly a band to watch out for..."
author: Pete Pardo, SoT Staff Writer

"Of Infinity have struck an impressive chord on their demo EP The Essence of Infinity, at a time when music of this genre, that being gothic & progressive power metal, is hot. With the vocals of Allesandra Zinicola soaring above the crushing guitars of Nazareth Sando, majestic keyboard stylings, and the pounding rhythm section of bassist Kurtis Kyllo and drummer Carlos Teller, this band from San Antonio, Texas instantly brings to mind such groups as Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, and Edenbridge...this is classy metal that is well played, well written, and very symphonic. Give a listen to the orchestral metal of "Shadow of a Lie", an impressive number with meaty guitar riffs, violins, and loads of synths. Allesandra''s vocals and piano melodies are simply gorgeous on the passionate "It''s Only Forever", a song that will easily appeal to prog and metal lovers alike...a full-length release will be eagerly anticipated by this writer."

  • "...the band wrote something beautiful."
    author: Metal Storm

"At the end, we have three first really promising songs...This musicians are good no doubt and they will certainly find a label if they follow this way...Of Infinity, will win a deal with a good label and release for sure a first album soon... they are talented then why not?

  • "...one of the countries premier female fronted metal bands"
    author: Metal Warrants

"All three songs on this disk are outstanding. Excellent musicianship. The guitars, bass and drums are top notch. I’m sure these guys may be tired of hearing that, only for the fact that vocalist Alessandra Zinicola’s mesmerizing voice steals the show. Angelic yet majestic. Very powerful...Seems hard to believe that a major label has not swooped them up by now. Just goes to show you how incredibly stupid most scouts really are. Each track is very dark and melodic. But on the same note, there’s a heaviness underneath it all that sucks you in. Paralyzes your senses till you become one with the music. An brilliant showcase of talent lies within Of Infinity."

  • "This is for you."
    author: Metal Maniacs

"The passion is there and that's what you need more than anything. The rest comes with perseverance and experimentation...I wouldn't be surprised to see this crew step it up and eventually show up in regular mention along side the aforementioned influences. (Tristania, Theatre Of Tragedy, and Lacuna Coil)"

  • "...can definitely compete with the genre leaders."
    author: The Metal Observer

"...the self-given style description of “Powerful Female Fronted Melodic Metal“ hits the famous nail right on the head, because they have power, Alessandra obviously is a female and Melodic Metal it is that they play, what more could you ask for? Well, quality would not be the worst thing, I would say. And the opener “The Voice Without“ quickly shows that this is no problem for OF INFINITY either...“Shadow Of A Lie” builds a very strong atmosphere, combining different moods and grades of heaviness in a very dynamic way, while “It’s Only For Forever“ is slower and more emotional, putting Alessandra’s very warm and emotive voice into the centre point...The clear production does its part to give the songs the right framework and help all labels with a healthy business sense to form the decision to offer a contract to OF INFINITY...the quartet shows enormous potential that just should not be overlooked!"

  • "The entire disc is great."
    author: D-Day's Revenge

"There is some beautiful music out there if you know where to find it. Now I can add Of Infinity to that list. While I was honestly a little scepticle at first by the mention of "Goth" in reference to the band, (we all know how I love to tease them and hippies) I was honestly blown away by the sound...Beautiful vocals, great musicianship, and the album is put together as if it were on a major label already. As much as I hate to say things too similar to other sites, I must mirror the question being asked by the other 'zines in their reviews section: Why aren't they signed yet?!"

  • "...they are the best kept secret in melodic goth metal."
    author: Metal Reigns

"What are you listening to? Whatever it is, Stop Now! Of Infinity have a new three song CD entitled, Essence Of Infinity. Something fans of all melodic music should hear. One of the best unsigned bands I have heard, and deserves being signed...Of Infinity is a well rounded and solid force in the goth metal genre. Why they have not been signed is puzzling to me. One thing is clear. Of Infinity have the talent to reach a great deal of success and with time will produce even far greater music...Melodic, sophisticated, mature music is what Of Infinity offers. No gimmicks. Just good listening music that should appeal to a wide array of musical tastes. Enjoy the beauty that is Of Infinity. Hear the Essence Of Infinity."

  • "I can't wait to hear more!"
    author: Chain D.L.K.

"I have been following this band ever since they were just starting out. This is a very powerful female-fronted melodic metal band...The members of Of Infinity are quite accomplished individuals. Most have had musical experience in the past and most have music-industry interests and or are getting an education for it. The singing talent of Alessandra Zinicola sure will get this band noticed by the major labels if not a bigger indie record company. Of Infinity will go to the top as soon as they are handled by the right people."

  • "...falling in love with the emotional power of the music..."
    author: UNRESTRAINED! Magazine (Article)

"...a lot of indie band demos have passed through Chateau Bromley. Most get a few spins, some get a half spin, and then there are those indie demos that I put away on a shelf next to my CDs as note to myself that I had their demo before they saw success in this business. I've filed notable demos from all genres of metal...Now alongside the numerous demo tapes and CDs is Texas-based act Of Infinity, easily one of the best indie demos I have heard in a while."

  • "Of Infinity are poised on the verge of success."
author: Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles (BW&BK)

"Wonderful female-fronted gothic metal that will appeal to fans of both Nightwish and Lacuna Coil, this three song EP is nothing short of remarkable. Twinkling keyboards usher in the majestic first track, "The Voice Without". Alessandra Zinicola's crystalline voice is mesmerizing -delicate yet powerful...The band behind her, featuring ex-Fallen Empire guitarist Nazareth Sando, do everything just right. "Shadow Of A Lie" contains epic violins within a stirring, exhilarating composition. Lastly, "Its Only For Forever" contains luscious, vibrant guitar and beautiful piano in a truly special serenade."

  • "Watch for these guys."
    author: AEA Zine

"The first minute or so of "The Voice Without" had such an impact on me I had to go back and listen to it a second time. The piano, keyboards and lead vocals of Alessandra Zinicola were so transcendent they'll make you forget about purists' claims that true underground metal should not have any additional trappings. Indeed, you can't even classify this band's music as death metal since it encompasses a wide, wide range of influences. If you thought that first song is good, wait until you get to "Shadow of a Lie" and "It's Only For Forever" which stretch the musical range a lot more."

  • "The band is absolutely brilliant!"
    author: World Horror Network

"Of Infinity's latest release, "The Essence Of Infinity", is one of the most intriguing cd's to fall on my desk as of late, specifically due to the fact that they are unsigned. I've never heard a band this good that wasn't signed -- it's amazing!!...Of Infinity has made a lasting impression on me. I look forward to seeing them signed to a major label in the very near future...Century Media, The End Records, Road Runner, beware -- it's only a matter of time before you bow down."

  • "I highly suggest looking out for Of Infinity."
    author: The Metal Garage

"The band seems together as one, a strong unit, something that definitely comes off when listening to their music...(The CD is) brilliantly produced with an epic feeling to it, each instrument being very clear to listen to, and The Essence Of Infinity really sounds like a major budgeted CD, not just a demo. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Of Infinity signed to a record label soon, perhaps even a major one, as they are certainly better than some other gothic/melodic metal bands on major labels I’ve heard. They certainly have what it takes..."

  • "Brilliant…absolutely brilliant!"
    author: Unstoppable Force Webzine

"Take the magic and atmosphere of Angel Dust, the beauty and gentle touch of Evanescence, and the musicianship and melody of Kamelot and you will find yourself listening to Of Infinity. The lyrics can only be described as deep and powerful...If this (CD) is a glimpse of what Of Infinity are capable of, then Century Media, Nuclear Blast, and Noise Records better pay more attention to them, as they have “SIGN ME” written all over themselves. Truly a nice addition to the female fronted metal bands of today. Perhaps one day we’ll see Of Infinity touring with the likes of Nightwish, Sinergy, or Mastermind."

  • "Haunting female vocals."
    author: Slug Magazine

"From the opening melodic chords of the first song, fans of Nightwish and Tristania know that they will be in for a treat. At once, very melodic gothic metal complemented with occasional mandolin chords flows from the speakers, taking the listener to a realm removed of the earth."

  • "...fu#kin' beautiful."
    author: Dare Devil Magazine

"Of Infinity play super sweet melodic "goth" metal, and it sounds pretty damn good...bands like Of Infinity completely slay bands like Evanessence. They aren't afraid to mix things up beyond the "verse, chours, verse" fomula, and introduce alot of different instruments and styles to the music...they have a really neat old-school metal guitar feel, the solos are huge and sound almost like something from the bay-area thrash movement. This is stuff is high quality."

  • "...this CD needs to be in your collection."
    author: Metal Life Magazine

"...the guitar work is very impressive and once again, the vocals are superb....A well written, arranged and performed 3 song collection exuding talent and metal power...The existing talent Of Infinity shows and what we can see as growing into even greater skills, is what led Metal Life Magazine to sponsor this band."

  • "...catchy as fu*k..."
    author: Voivod.Net

"...this Nightwish/Lacuna Coil influenced combo will soon have fans of the genre championing a new Goddess. Her name is Alessandra Zinicola and she, if I may be blunt, has a powerful set of lungs...The musicianship is excellent...and the production is rather impressive...I dare say the band members are counting the days ‘til they have a full orchestra at their disposal, until then, there’s a little matter of a record deal to acquire first. And judging by ‘The Essence of Infinity’, that won’t be too long in coming."

  • "Excellent taste of gothic metal from the States"
    author: Silent Scream Webzine

...(Of Infinity has) songwriting ability that shows up through majestic resounding arrangements, that could put them beside Nightwish or Within Temptation...Some excellent premises then, in just three compositions that should attract the discographic labels, always looking for young talents."

  • Nice mix of goth , progressive and symphonic metal.
    author: Eric Reimel

Of Infinty are a very talented band that can best be compared to Rain Fell Within, Nightwish, or Lacuna Coil. The musicians are all very talented and the production is top notch. Equal parts melodic, symphonic and times quite heavy. I really enjoyed the CD and would recommend it to fans of any of the aforementioned bands.

  • "...a band that could make a big break through..."
    author: Vanity Project

"This is epic melodic Goth tinged metal with big riffs, big tunes and a powerful female voice in the form of Alessandra Zinicola...‘Shadow Of A Lie’ is particularly strong with a wonderful use of violin mixed in with the guitars while ‘It’s Only For Forever’ is a piano led trawl through murky waters and tales of sorrow. ‘The Voice Without’ has that synth led galloping sound that’s so popular with European metal bands with mellow interludes. Of Infinity sound like they are ready to hit the big stages with their infectious epics."

  • "extremely catchy"
    author: Tartarean Desire

"...the level of "guitar-manship" is top-notch...Alessandra is clearly on top of her game! Her lush, strong soprano vocals captivate you and her melodies are outstanding...this is a great EP and worth the $5 it'll cost you to pick it up! Get this while you can because if the band stays together, which it seems they have the dedication to do so, I'd expect them to be signing a record contract soon and this little nugget will be "Out Of Print" soon thereafter."

  • "Powerful gothic metal with great female vocals."
    author: Metal Maidens.Com

"Their influences are from bands like THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, NIGHTWISH, EVANE-SCENCE and LACUNA COIL. However, the power of this lady singer simply goes beyond these names. The crystal clear production and the high-skilled musicians take care of the rest... I think, we can see OF INFINITY as a great promise for the future!"

  • "...progsters should gobble this group up."
    author: Music Morsels

"This three song (CD) will whet your appetite for a larger feast of this female voiced prog metal trio from San Antonio. Trip hammer drumming, incendiary guitars and thunderstorm bass riffs are twisted with mellower piano graced melodic passages. The intrigue factor runs higher from the intense vocals of Alessandra Zinacola, who is reminiscent of Ann Wilson and Lana Lane. There is obvious songwriting talent here as well..."

  • "...a personal favorite."
    author: DarkSoul VII

"The recording is amazing...Every instrument sounds the way it should. The guitars wail, the bass thumps, the drums hammer, the violin sings, and the piano entrances. The vocals are engulfed in beauty and hold a heavenly presence...I would not be surprised if this band is signed and touring within the next year. For fans of gothic and progressive metal, Of Infinity stakes its claim as a band that will go far."

    author: R.Davey

If you like Lacuna Coil, Brave, Leaves Eyes, Rain Fell Within & other female lead goth-metal bands, you'll love Of Infinity. The only negative here is it's only 3 tracks. However, they're 3 killer tracks and it leaves you waiting for their first full length disc! I can't pick a best song from this disc because there isn't one. They're all the best.Order it now!

I love it when a band uses strings or an orchestra with their music. This cd was great. I cant wait to hear more from this group.

  • I am sure you will love it...
    author: Behind The Veil

"Sure, I like to listen to NIGHTWISH, EVANESCENCE and THEATER OF TRAGEDY, but I mostly prefer to listen to this new mini CD from Of Infinity...Of Infinity is a band that knows to keep the balance between melody and aggressiveness..."Shadow Of A Lie" and "It's Only For Forever" are two of the greatest compositions of atmospheric metal I have listened to lately."

  • Killer stuff.
    author: Metal Whore.Com

"Of Infinity churn out some excellent "melodic doom metal". Think Lacuna Coil playing quarters with My Dying Bride and The Gathering...I'll be keeping an eye on this band. I expect great things to come. Fans of melodic metal should reach into their wallets now for the $5 they ask for the EP."

  • There is a strong dark atmospheric sound in their music
    author: Beowolf Productions

"The music covers a few forms of Metal music. There are strong elements of Power Metal, Doom, Black Metal & Goth all present with in their songs...This band reminds me of a lot of the bands from Europe!..This talented band would be great for fans of LACUNA COIL, THEATRE OF TRAGEDY & THE GATHERING to check out!!!"

"I can't believe this band is not on a huge Metal label like Napalm, Century Media or Nuke Blast...The Productions is so huge you would think a major label budget was spent on the tracking and recording on this 3 song promo ep. The Voice of Alessandra is some of the most beautiful and majestic I've heard in a long time this woman can sing and she shows all her range and talent and what sounds like years of training...Of Infinity will have Labels knocking on there door very soon with major record label offers."

"This Melodic Metal band from the US has "newest label signing" written all over them...they managed to get a tight, crystal clear production on "Essence Of Infinity" but still maintain the idea of feeling in the music...I can only imagine how brilliant a debut full length would be !"

  • "Recommended."
    author: I Will Be Heard.Co.Uk

"Of Infinity create a very European sound, somewhat unexpectedly from America and has echo’s of such great bands as Lacuna Coil, Nightwish and The Gathering...Alessandra’s hauntingly angelic, unsullied vocals provide character with which to distinguish this band from others, as does the building composures, thick guitar chords, violins and keyboards which often give a panoramic feel and big symphonic sound...well worth anyone’s time to check out."

  • "The Essence Of Infinity" combines the best of doom, Goth, metal...
    author: RoughEdge.Com

"The Essence Of Infinity" is a rare case of an EP from a new (and unsigned!) band that seems to have the right combination of talent, drive, and that ever elusive 'it' that makes a band a bigger sum than its individual parts...I actually have high hopes for this band to be the American counterpoint to the great European/Scandinavian bands in this style."

  • "...there is no filler material here."
    author: ArchaicMetallurgy.Com

"This is a fantastic piece of music...The catchiness of the music is incredible...Every musician would kill for this kind of magic. Performance is flawless. Still, it's Alessandra Zinicola's powerful voice, that gets the most of attention. Her voice is beautiful, powerful and charismatic. Another fine female vocalist, that will melt any man's heart...If record labels don't sign Of Infinity, they are stupid to miss this charismatic band. Fans of female vocals in metal music should not miss this one, either. 'The Essence of Infinity' actually sounds timeless in terms of metal music."

  • ...for a mere $5 it is a cd well worth getting hold of.
    author: New Horizons

"...the sound is truly superb and quite frankly I have heard full length recordings by artists on commercial labels that cannot touch it for quality...When all is said and done this EP is a real pleaser and the only disappointment in my mind is that there is not more of it, but then I have to stress that this is an excellent package...In terms of both quality and content this is without doubt an excellent debut release - here is hoping that a full length CD is soon to follow!!!"

"The EP The Essence Of Infinity by Of Infinity had proven to be just that CD, the Diamond in the ruff that we strive to listen to as Independent music reviewers...Listening to this EP reminded me of the excitement I got when my favorite major label band released their newest material...Wow, what a great CD!"

  • Of Infinity puts down some great tunes that will blow you from your feet...
author: Musketeer Of Death on the Net

"The first song is a typical classic gothic metal-song that really kicks some ass, the second song is also pretty heavy and also a bit dark, gives a nice twist to it all, and the third song is a quiet one but shows how great Alessandra is behind the piano and the synthesiser...all gothic metal-fans should get their hands on this CD...DO IT, YOU WON’T REGRET IT."

  • Musically the band is a ten out of 10
    author: Sleaze-Metal.Com

    author: RockReview.co.uk

"This record rocks. Like an easier Theatre of Tragedy, or a more progressive, much-better Evanescence – this female-fronted melodic-goth metal band make heavy, timeless, catchy music – contrasting thunderous bass, pounding drums and deep guitars, with twinkly synths and the occasional elegant violin or soothing piano interlude. It’s occasionally eerily cosmic in its graceful passages, and then stirringly passionate in it’s crashing metal moments...(this CD has)been on repeat in my CD player for some time now, and not once have I been disappointed."

  • The overall impression I got was one of great promise
    author: P.G.

In these songs I got the rare combination of both bottomless energy and bottomless depth, with a wide range of sensations and meaning that too many metal acts lack. The whole vibe of the disk is great and very inviting to multiple listens, but particular high points for me are the richly-layered guitars and violins in Shadow of a Lie and the somber piano outro in It’s Only for Forever, which display obvious technical prowess and great emotion.

  • "Anyway you slice it, I need more."
    author: DeadTide.com

"...this is good stuff. The vocals are all of the female variety, beautifully sung by one Alessandra Zinicola...the music holds its own. It's very lush...The riffing is also surprisingly aggressive for this kind of music...There are some rather nice string arrangements to be found on this EP.

  • "A masterpiece that leaves you expecting their next release."
    author: Music Extreme

"The music here is powerful and at the same time really introspective. And is a music designed to awaken different feelings in the listener. Melancholy, sadness, beauty, this are only a part of the emotions that will surely appear in your mind while listening to this amazing release."

  • "This three song CD definitely leaves you wanting to hear more from these folks.
    author: Rock Net

"The songs are catchy, powerful, melodic, and just flat awesome. Dare I say that? Yeah, I think so. This three song CD is so well put together. The music is well layered and the vocals are astonishing. This CD is just simply amazing. I think I'll be listening to this for a long time. I can hardly wait to hear a full length CD."

  • "The San Antonio, Texas, metal outfit Of Infinity is going to succeed."
    author: Harvest Moon Music

"The three songs of The Essence Of Infinity are well crafted, well executed examples of Gothic metal that is beautiful, true to the genre, and accessible...I hope for much more to come along in the near future."

  • "The production is unbelievably clear, layered to perfection..."
    author: Raw Nerve

"...the guitars have a suitable chunky crunch, vocally immaculate, and musically very tight and mature. The female vocals are, quite frankly, beautiful, almost operatic but not over the top or screeching, in fact, they are rather seductive, quite innocent and harmonious, and the whole package for those liking their Lacuna Coil, The Gathering (of old), Evanescence and Shadow of Memories style bands this is a must. Very gothic but with a slightly doomy thrashy edge at times."

"...an amazing cauldron of progressive, melodic and dark metal...The production is ace, the guitar work is remarkable (especially on "Shadow of A Lie") and the rhythm section is potent, but the heart of the band's power comes from lead singer Alessandra Zinicola...The 3-song CD leaves me wanting more and I can't wait to see what is ahead for Of Infinity - I will definitely be watching."

  • "...this is a quite stunning EP."
    author: MetalUK.com

"Straddling a line between progressive metal and the classical / gothic mix utilised by the likes of Nightwish, this so called demo more than matches the output of many signed and established bands...Darkly melodic throughout with some truly outstanding material and performances, this is a CD to cherish. More soon, please."

"Of Infinity’s "The Essence Of Infinity" was a most pleasant musical experience for me...in my opinion if a Label’s "scout" is smart enough, he’ll sign Of Infinity because this band’s bound to succeed if given the necessary means to create their music the way they exactly want to do it."

  • The sound is so excellent, close to perfection...
    author: Lords Of Metal

"Above all the songs are catchy and melodious, but at the same time very powerful...'The Voice Without' has the most standard gothic elements. The mid-paced track has a solemn, magnificent sound, but a dusky mood is surely present...The wide spectrum of the band is illustrated in 'It's Only For Forever'. Here they go for a medieval scene and damned, they do it well. It feels like being in the middle of maidens and knights on horses, a pig on a spit and barrels of barmy beer...Not only for gothic fans!"

  • "...a balladesque memorial..."
    author: Amboss Magazine

"...after one has course his way through the 3 songs a few times, only an open mouth remains, from which an immediate “Wow” springs forth...Here one has the instrumental quality of “Within Temptation”, the ballad-like atmosphere of “Evanescence”, the singing vehemence of “Lacuna Coil”...The voice elevates itself crystal-clear, sings directly and abstains from forced opera arias. The guitars also allow doom to reign beautifully in the middle part...The feminine canto is exquisitely spectacular and even brutishly striking..."

    author: Metal Coven

"Seriously, the first thought that popped into my head when I played this EP was something along the lines of a loud exclamation of "holy shit!"...Of Infinity are not just some clone of other great bands, they are a great band unto themselves...in additional to the wonderful piano work, (it) has some of the most hypnotizing vocal lines I've heard in quite some time...I found this CD to be pretty much flawless, as everything was extremely fluid, well written and well performed. America needs more bands like Of Infinity! They are definitely a band to keep an eye on, as I expect great things from them in the future."

  • I shall keep my fingers crossed for their hopeful signing of a record deal
    author: Maximum Metal

"This is a moody and heavy piece. The almost Angelic voice of Alessandra Zinicola cutting through the well orchestrated melodies. She really does have a great voice, and it is very powerful...I thought I was listening to a professional label release because the overall production is very close to that side...I was impressed...and it’s not that easy to win me over these days."

  • ...the band’s slogan powerful female fronted melodic metal is absolutely true!

What a good, full recording!...Altogether, the band shows they have many different aspects to present to us...Alessandra’s voice is beautiful...Vocalist Alessandra Zinicola is the best.

  • ...the musicianship and production easily rival that of the more well-known acts
    author: Richard Stuart Reviews

Texas-based Of Infinity are certainly one of the stronger bands of the genre I've heard in recent years...the intricate piano compositions complement the overall gothic elegance...This is a professional and promising release, and I'm sure the band are destined to do even greater things in the near future.

  • Of Infinity has that air about them that just exudes freaky good musicianship.

Spotted on the album will be sweeping strings and piano/keyboard soundscapes that give a great backdrop to the pounding percussion and distorted guitars.
