Ohene is the very definition of "lyrical emcee." His wordplay and unique concepts far surpass any other rapper to date. More than just clichéd metaphors and punchlines, "The Rapademics" displays a mastery of all elements of poetry.

notes
Ohene (pronounced Ō-hen-ĕ) brings to the game what no other emcee does: the total package. As gifted a freestyler as he is a writer, Ohene can as easily please a crowd with an “off the dome” battle rhyme as he can with a number from his repartee. His music reaches all. Already a phenomenon in Ghana, The Begotten Son of Rhyme has returned to the United States to claim his rightful spot among hip-hop’s elite. The response was immediate. Critics, fans, and fellow artists all stand in awe of his lyrical prowess. So respected for this gift, he now teaches a course at Temple University entitled The Art of Rap: How to Emcee. After dropping the This Is NOT My Album! mix CD, a compilation of previously recorded material, self-released due to demand, Ohene has finally given the world his long awaited official debut, "The Rapademics." Singles "It Is “O”" and "3rd Bar Invention" are currently playing on independent and college radio stations across the country.

don't sleep on this...this joint is better than the latest krs 1
A Must Listen
author: KeonneThis album surpasses by far any album of this generation that has been considered "groundbreaking." Not to wish ill on this very talented emcee, but I'm glad he's not on a commercial label that would have total preverted his work with subpar production by (insert your favorite overused producer here), R&B hooks by (insert your favorite overused singer here), and contradictory features by (insert your favorite overused rapper here). Hopefully Blue Note or Hidden Beach will pick him up. I know those are jazz labels, but if they can't respect Ohene as an artist, then there are not the chroniclers of Black music I thought they were.

This album is a CLASSIC in every sense of the word! From beginning to end I hear something new everytime I listen to The Rapademics. I don't know when the last time was that I could say that. Ohene is a damn genius! But for real though, I think Ohene is an alien android from some far off galaxy in the future sent back through time to teach us here in the 21st century a thing or two about emceeing. Just kidding! But seriously, The Rapademics is dope!
Album for the brain
author: MattRapademics is crazy hot. Hands down the most intricate lyricism coming out of Philly. Take Canibus type skill joints, mixed with a Tribe Called Quest soul vibe, over some real underground but still excellently produced beats, and you get the idea. Dude is spittin in all sorts of flows over bizarre rhythms. One joint, he spits one set of rhymes into your left speaker, and a different set of rhymes into your right, so you get two songs at once. It's crazy. Can't wait for the next album.
which college radio stations can i hear some your music????
author: querywhich college radio stations can i hear some your music??? dope!
I CAN'T DENY IT.
author: Bill ClintonI CANNOT AND WILL NOT DENY THE SKILLS OF THIS MAN. I AM TOUCHED. OHENE FOR PRESIDENT!
Oh My God!!!!!
author: ScottLet me catch my breath..................Genius, Pure Genius, I mean like Einstein Genius. It's been said Ohene left and came back to America.Where did Ohene go? My question is was he one of those abducted by exterterestials, givin superhuman mental capabilities and vocal fluctations and sent back here to expound knowledge thru his lyrical flows? It's got to be. No one person on the planet earth has his capabilities. Ohene is ushering in a new Renaissance in this modern day and age. Ohene is "the best lyrical rapper on the planet" period, end of story. Let me recouperate from this massive mental overload........ if the most stars here are fives then Ohene is a 50! Yeah Dats right a 50!
Give the man 10 stars! Statosperically speaking, all "others" are grounded.
author: ScottWTF have you been hiding Ohene? I listened and I could not belive what I was hearing. Perfection, wordmastery skills, articulate verbage done maniacle encyclopedic ease. I would have to say that there is no one that even comes close, no one.Its no wonder Ohene's teaching the art of rap and emceeing at Temple U.Ohene trully does have a P.H.D. in rap,so If you're an artist go to his school if you're not already intimidated, you just might learn something, OHENE's the Best!!!!!!!!!!
The Greatest Emcee in Philly by far and maybe on the planet!
author: PhillyHip HopAre you sitting down? Good. Now take a deep breath. Ready? The only local emcee close to the lyrical dexterity of Ohene (pronounced OH' Henny) is Last Emp. Ohene will come to be known as the KRS-ONE of the new millennium. Mark my words. Ohene is going to go down as one of the greatest emcees in the history of Philadelphia. I'm sure most of y'all are accusing me of going overboard. I guarantee that after listening to The Rapademics, you'll come to see things my way. This man's rhymes will give your brain a entertainingly vigorous workout
