notes

Deaconess Kemi Ikotun -'Oluwakemi', as she is usually referred to- is a Songwriter, Singer, Composer and a Minister of the Gospel.
Her singing ministry has spanned over 12 years and she has ministered in songs at various gatherings and Churches in the UK and abroad.

Oluwakemi was a member of the Zion Voices, a Lagos based band whose members included TJ Dairo, Taiwo and Kehinde Lemoshe, Gbemisola Ogunleye and others. The band performed widely in Church programmes and social functions around Lagos, Nigeria in the early nineties.

Presently, Oluwakemi is an ardent member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Power of Jehovah, London; where she is a member of the ministerial team and a Praise and Worship leader.

Oluwakemi's debut CD titled 'Wonder-working God' jointly produced by 'Niran Ikotun and Jide Arowolo has been described as a quality resource of praise and inspiration. The CD contains songs which are blends of contemporary gospel music greatly influenced by African-Carribbean flavours, ballads and RnB.
Oluwakemi is presently in the studios recording a follow-up album to Wonder-working God. The album is scheduled for release early 2008

Oluwakemi's goal is to influence society using the talent that God has deposited in her to lift up the name of Jesus Christ higher and higher, thereby drawing people to God.

This is how she describes herself: "I am OLuwakemi-the wife, the mother, the daughter, the cousin and the friend who by the grace of God, ministers in songs the true gospel of Jesus Christ".

Oluwakemi strongly believes she has a duty to present hope and encouragement (in Christ Jesus) in a world where it is hard to find true love, full of hurt, disappointment and pain. Oluwakemi considers singing/music to be a platform to communicate such hope, encouragement, fulfiment and true Love.

    author: Infinity Connextion (Wakajeje)

The last star belongs to GOD. That's why the CD didn't get it. Keep up the great work. The gates of hell shall NOT prevail. This is a soul thing cos the last frontier to be conquered is always the soul. As GOD is lifted through songs, I see souls cascading Kingdom-wards. The vibes is very contemporary.

  • A commendable kaleidoscope of African Gospel
    author: Ola Jay

Wonder-working God starts off like a gentle fresh gust of breeze by the seashore and it's no surprise as the natural elements around us testify of God's beauty and wonder...Kemi's voice complements the sombreness of her ballards while she rises to challenge of the floor stompers like Hallelujah...a commendable debut!
