notes
In 2004, Onken-Stein Records was formed to release the first album of the Omaha band Ten O'Clock Scholars. The Scholars first album, "Leaving It Behind," sold all 200 copies that were printed and is no longer available for purchase. This led to the eventual recording of Ten O'Clock Scholars' 2006 album, "Bridges and Brighter Days." After building Onken-Stein Records from the ground up with Ten O'Clock Scholars, the label expanded its lineup in 2007, signing the Omaha/Fremont band Third Frate.
With the idea to release an Onken-Stein Records compilation disc on the table, Ten O'Clock Scholars and Third Frate both went into the studio to record new songs. Two songs is hardly a compilation CD, but when you only have two artists on your label, what are you supposed to do? Well, the answer is simple. You form a side project band. So to round out the 3-song compilation EP, a side project band called PG-13 was formed, and the song "Cry, Cry, Cry" features members of both Ten O'Clock Scholars and Third Frate.
