I was born in 1976 on the west coast of Norway. When I was 4 years old I told my sister that I was gonna be a countrysinger when I grew up, and finally I have made it. I started playing guitar when I was 10, at the age of 14 I started to perform on stage. When I was 15 I began to write my own songs (the first songs were nogood) :-) I've been playing at pubs, weddings, etc... for many years now, and I wanted to make a cd, but it's not easy to get a record deal so I had to do it on my own. It cost me a lot of money but the cd is finaly finished 18 months after I started making it. The musicians that helped me make this cd are among the best in Norway. Two of the songs are written by Rick Paul, Kent Newsome is the co writer on one of them. The rest of the songs are mine, Nashmia Sandbugt helped me with 3 of the songs. The cd is prodused by Eirik Grønner and me. I hope you will enjoy my cd! Best regards: Paul Johansen

    I listened to the six songs on the Website. They are very beautiful!!! Actually the first song, Gone With the Wind, already took my breath away! I did not wait any longer and ordered two copies right away. After I get the CD and enjoy the songs one by one, I may write another review. :) Happy Holidays! ^_^

    I am very impressed of this norwegian country singer and songwriter, what a debut album! I´ll be very surprised if Paul Johansen not reach the stars soon, he´s worth it after listening to this CD. We have here Shuffle, Rockin´ country, ballads and other great traditional country songs sung with feeling and great players, all norwegians. I will recommend this CD to everyone who´s looking for some great european country, you will not be dissapointed. Great job, boys....keep it up!

    I didn't listen to country before i heard this cd. His voice is great, and the lyrics are good!! The musicians did a very good job on this album! His voice made me start listening to country! This cd is a "must buy".!!

    This is Paul's debut CD and it is Great! All original songs, with most written by Paul, with a varation of tempo changes. Great first effort!Look out NORWAY, a New Star is Born!     Is this a debut CD ?! Paul sings with a confidence, presence and honesty that I rarely encounter. I believe in these songs. I love the variaton and temperature changes that comes along as you listen, always kept together by that warm, rough and tender voice. Great musicianship and great songs. Wonderful !

    Paul Johansen's "Gone With the Wind" CD showcases his unique alternative country-style voice, with a collection of memorable traditional and alternative country melodies and solid production. As a songwriter for two of the songs on the album ("Loser's Rodeo" and "If I Could Turn the Hands of Time"), I was a little hesitant to hear the album because you never know if the singer will do the songs proud or mangle them or come somewhere in between. I'm happy to report Paul did an excellent job on both of my songs, and I very much enjoyed his own melodies, too.
