Get it while it's hot! Asheville's newest all-local CD, "Peaks And Curves: Music from Asheville NC"! The best-of-local disc boasts both selected album tracks and previously unreleased gems from some of the best-known and talented musicians in the area. "Peaks and Curves: Music from Asheville, NC" was compiled by producers Aaron Price and Bill Reynolds and includes tracks by:
Tyler Ramsey, voted "best local musician" several years running in the Mountain Xpress Readers' Poll;
up-and-coming pop stars Stephanie's Id;
the sultry swing ladies of Menage;
end-times revelating rock n' roll of Hollywood Red, aka Woody Wood
national recording artists DrugMoney,
Abe Reid (Blue Rags co-founder currently blazing trails on the post-blues psychedelia scene) and his band The Spikedrivers;
world-music Funksters Free Planet Radio, whose members include
Grammy-winning bassist Eliot Wadopian, local producer/multi-instrumentalist Chris Rosser, and international man of rhythm River Guerguerian (who
currently tours with the world-renowned Turkish musician Omar Faruk Tekbilek);
the legendary Malcolm Holcombe, whose ultra-sleek songwriting and transcendant live show place him at the top of the regional solo-act heap, and recipient of a 4-star review in Rolling Stone:
soul-and-roots evangelists The Choosy Beggars;
long-time organic hip-hop perpetrators Granola Funk Express;
producer and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Price;
Asheville Americana flagship Black Eyed Dog, whose frontman Brian Landrum is a noted local producer;
singer/songwriter Allison King, better known as the newest
multi-instrumentalist to join Menage;
post-beatnik rockers George Terry & The Zealots;
the bubblegum/battering-ram power-pop of Paperboy;
the horn-honking hokum and novelty-zen-stalwarts Mad Tea Party.

a great mix of grits and grunt
author: Harry MorganA great mix ranging from the funky to the sublime. Shows off the great talent that is present in Asheville,NC. Two thumbs up. WAY UP!
I love this CD. Asheville is a virtual hotbed of talent. I can't wait to hear P+
author: Fools Goldmine MagazineFrom the robotic love of song craftsman A.P. to the mountain soul of Malcom Holcombe, this CD is packed with great tunes. Peaks and Curves is finally showcasing the talent hiding out in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Stephanie's Id delivers a stunning performance as do funksters GFE. Asheville, NC is making a big noise for a little mountain town.
The album rocks--teriffic eclectic music mix
author: Abacab PressPeaks and Curves features musicians from Asheville North Carolina and that area is obviously brimming with talent because the CD is full of great music. Everything from funky fusion to hip hop to authentic mountain music to electronica. Highly recommended. Some of these artists will be stars of tomorrow, not much doubt about that. Extraordinary audio quality as well.
