" Whisper My Name" is a superb collection of finely crafted, award-winning R&B from one of Australia's most versatile and energetic performers.
Louise Perryman sings like nobody you've ever heard. Soothing and soulful, sensual and surprising, you will find yourself swimming in her voice. Her lyrics will tear at your heart and her extraordinary voice will heal your soul.
Capturing the timelessness of classic R&B, "Whisper My Name," combines Louise's impossibly pure vocals with Australia's finest musicians. And the result is truly exhilarating. Stripped of vocal gymnastics and heavy-handed production tricks favored by so many artists these days, Louise Perryman delivers her own brand of R&B. One can almost hear the studio reverberate with joy at the sounds of real musicians and artists at the peak of their craft. (Thankfully, there is not a drum machine within a thousand mile radius of this album!)
For those not fortunate enough to have experienced Louise Perryman live, this recording captures her vibrant essence and electrifying stage presence. She is as swept up by her music as any listener is - and it shines through on every track.
It is an immensely mature album from a woman who knows her subject matter - and sings it with a rare intensity. A gifted writer, Louise skillfully draws you deeper into her lyrical web with each listen. "Whisper My Name" takes you on a journey of love, heartbreak and soul searching delivered with an intense honesty and raw passion. The seductive invitation of the title track segues effortlessly from the quiet pain of "Stay" to the hypnotic rhythm of the award winning "Thinkin Too Much. Each track is a tribute to the power of positive energy and will bring a special joy to your ears.
You will want to come back to this album again and again.
"Whisper My Name" is style with substance - Louise Perryman will go straight to your heart. And the sweet irony is, that with an album titled "Whisper my Name," the extraordinary voice and songs of Louise Perryman will finally be recognized - loud and clear.

No "Sophomore Jinxes" here!!!!
author: zycor368@hotmail.comI loved Louie Perrymans' first album "Come-Ona My House" and "Whisper My Name" is a very strong followup. Rich, smooth vocals and top-quality production mark this sterling album from the opening track to the last. This album is the perfect antidote for those who are fed up with the anemic swill that passes for "pop R&B" these days. Although there aren't as many songs as on the first album, it's the quality of the songs on this album that counts most. With Louise Perryman, "quality over quantity" isn't merely a notion, but a certifiable fact. BRAVO!!!!
Soothing and Mellow....Very relaxing... nice grooves
author: mzrissyThe CD was relaxing and soothing. I would listen to it after a hard days work to unwind. I really enjoyed the cut Whisper My Name. Vocals are smooth and music is perfect for her voice. The CD shows the excellent range this artist has. I love the slow jazzy sounds and whats great about the CD is each cut is different. Not the same sound throughout the CD.
Needs to be heard!
author: Donal OgdenThis is the type of cd that us old school folk look for all the time. This needs tobe heard! One of the slicker joints I have heard in a long time. Highly recommend!
Pure quality that shines through
author: Barry Towler ("The Lowdown", Soul Express)Louise will be just the panacea that you need. Soulful, jazzy, sassy and with a nod in the direction of US adult contemporary and pop, Louise delivers this classy, classy CD effortlessly and with the gusto of conviction that only an artist who KNOWS she is good can deliver. The title song will be adored by those who are already hooked on Khani Cole, Marilyn Scott, DeBorah Bond and so on. Great stuff, and a real talent. Enjoy.
A fantastic collection of sophisticated songs with a voice to die for - BUY IT
author: Melissa ForbesWith great songs, wonderful players, and a voice born to sing RnB, Whisper My Name is the genuine article on every level. Louise may be from Sydney, Australia, but her soul is in RnB, all the way. Buy this CD!
Well produced hook-laden sweet soul.
author: Lawrence PerryGenerally independant artists have the chops ,and the tunes but the production suffers, and or there is a man-in-the-box playing keyboard everything. What a pleasure to hear an artist who cared enough to have the musicians and production that are nothing less than phenomenal.Falling somewhere between Phyllis Hyman,Anita Baker, and Norah Jones this is sophisticated sweet soul music at it's finest!
Wonderful Pop/Soul CD
author: SoulTracks.comBeginning with the midtempo title track, Whisper My Name is like a great trip back to the sophisticated pop/soul of the mid to late 80s, a period where pop, soul and smooth jazz could co-exist in an amalgamated form. It is nearly impossible to find a recent disc that attempts to straddle the adult pop/soul border, much less one that handles it as effectively as Whisper. It is a true throwback -- a late night album for adults that relies more on melodies and expressive vocal performance than on attitude or studio trickery.... This CD is Fantastic!!!!!!!!
author: Bob DavisAustralian Louise Perryman fits neatly into the tradition of white women singing R&B music that Black people have accepted when they have heard the music! Sometimes Louise Perryman's voice reminds me of Anita Baker, sometimes she reminds me of Laura Nyro, and sometimes she reminds me of Maria Muldar. The music playing behind her sweet and sultry voice is kinda in a 1970's Jazz-Funk mode, not unlike that of Minnie Riperton's 'Adventures In Paradise'.
Louise Perryman - Soul with a capital S!
author: Geoff WilliamsAn absolute gem! From the opening beats of "Whisper My Name" to the dying echoes of "You Can't Stop Me Now", this album is a sheer delight. Louise Perryman performs 8 of her own immaculately crafted songs, mixing slinky jazz-funk grooves and soul ballads with some of the most stylish vocals since Anita Baker. This is no reedy-voiced, ten-a-penny r'n'b "diva" - Louise Perryman has learned her craft, and it shows. A "must" for anyone who's serious about quality modern soul.
