A native of Stockton, CA. Playgyrl Slim has been said to be one of the fastest rising female rap stars on the scene today. She has a unique and different style compared to other female rappers. At age 9 she was already performing in front of crowds, capturing the interest of local promoters. In 1999 she performed with Pimp-A-Lot as the duo R.F.P. (Real Female Pimps) achieving underground success and drawing tremendous crowds at local and Bay area clubs. Her success gave her the rapport that helped her launch the youth group “Troublesome”.
In 2003 Playgyrl Slim release her solo album titled “Who Am I”, the album featured lost Bone member Court Dog from Kansas City. This album moved tremendous amounts of units. Playgyrl Slim has also appeared on several albums, mixtapes and underground Hip Hop shows from the U.S. to overseas. She has performed at several concerts where she was the headliner of some of the events. In 2005 Playgyrl Slim put together a series of freestyle battles in Stockton, Ca titled “Northern Cali Freestyle Battle”, that showcased up and coming rappers from all over California. Her music has been played on numerous shows such as the MTV Hip Hop show titled “My Block”, the 2005 Vibe Awards, the E! TV show titled “Gastineau Girls 109”, the Bravo TV show “Celebrity Pool”, VH1’s “I Love New York” and more. She has also been in several magazines including Murder Dog, Down Low, Explosive Magazine, C2C Magazine, Boss Status and 916 magazine.
Playgyrl Slim was nominated for 2 awards “Best Female Rapper of the Year” and “Album of the Year”, at the 1st Annual Stockton Hip Hop Awards in 2006. In 2007 Playgyrl Slim was nominated for and won “Best Female Rapper” at The 2nd Annual Stockton Hip Hop Awards. At The 3rd Annual Stockton Hip Hop Awards she was nominated again for “Best Female Rapper” also “Best Performer” and “Grinder Of The Year”. She took home the “Grinder Of The Year” award in 2008.
Playgyrl Slim dropped her 1st mixtape titled “2 Face” in March 2006 and “Valley, Sac, And The Bay Networking and Grinding Part 1” Compilation in April 2007. Playgyrl Slim has also released an all female mixtape title “We got Next” featuring Killa Kim. She also shot her first music video for “Thangz I Do”, directed by Drex from Envisionit Entertainment, in 2006.
This 6ft slim beauty is quickly absorbing the fame and is making noise in the underground music industry. Murder Dog magazine is quoted to as saying “…Playgyrl Slim is the mentality of the Bay. Playgyrl Slim got a Trina type style, that sassy attitude. She’s putting the game down tough and doing it big…”. Also Carlos from C4 Records is quoted to as saying “Playgyrl Slim is the queen of Stockton.”. Young Ren from Stockton California super group “Doja Clik” said, “Playgyrl Slim is the 1st lady of Stockton… she got more heat then most of these dudes do!”.

    Playgyrl Slim did a great job on this CD. Don't Step Ta Us is a song you won't be able to get outta ya head, which is (in this case) definitely a positive thing! Who Am I is a party anthem which I really like. Except for party songs she also has serious songs with deeper lyrics, so the songs aren't all of the same kind. Much respect keep doin ya thang!
