notes
"Pieces of East" is an adventure of eclectic music and song seamlessly fused to prove that diversity in various forms can truly co-exist.
After playing only for a year, the buzz of the group's fresh new sound quickly spread through their hometown of Austin, TX and the demand for recorded material reached a fever pitch. Their music caught the interest of renowned producer - Mark Hallman (Carole King, Ani DiFranco, Eliza Gilkyson) who was instrumental in making their debut album a local success. "Pieces of East" is getting ready to introduce their signature sound to the rest of the world as they embark on their first tour this summer.
"Pieces of East" are two time Austin Music Award Winners in 2003 and 2004 for Best World Band and nominees in 12 diverse categories including Best Rock, Best Pop, Best None-of-the-Above and Best Record Producer.

Wow!
author: BuffyThis is an amazing CD. I saw PoE on thier tour this past summer, and they enchanted me from the first lyric and note. An unbelieveable fusion of music. Great synergy between all band members, and it is evident in this CD. You'll never regret owning this one...you'll love every song!
Fabulous mix of West and East to make your soul sing!
author: Leigh BThis CD will capture your heart and speak to your soul. One of the tracks - Brothers in War - could remain with you for weeks, as a gentle reminder to us all of our deep humanist connections. Buy this debut album - you will not be disappointed!
Great Debut!
author: BrentIf this is only a debut, I would say POE are definitely to be watched in the future. The group delivers endearingly heartfelt vocals wrapped up in haunting textures that effectively encompass Eastern and Western elements (while transcending the "new-age-iness" that plagues so many lesser world fusion groups). Well done and highly recommended.
