Preach is the leader of Hip Hop band Kindablu (http://www.kindablu.com) out of Columbia, SC.
His first official solo offering "Garveyism" includes production by Nicolay of the critically acclaimed Foreign Exchange along with soulful backdrops by Clokwork (who has done production for Boston's Brick Records),Jah Freedom, and Midi Marc amongst others.
For supporters of A Tribe Called Quest and other acts during Hip Hop's glory years, "Garveyism" makes you feel as if they never left.

Preach - "Garveyism" Release Date: August 24, 2006 Preach Website Purchase "Garveyism" This is one of those albums I would have reviewed in depth if I wasn't so crazy busy right now. It contains many points for discussion, including various topics of revolution, positive reinforcement and even a track dedicated to Preach's country of origin, Columbia, and it's drug trade. But most of all is the album's title, Garveyism, a term which describes a system of beliefs based around the teachings of Marcus Garvey. Garveyism is basically the quest for complete and total redemption of the continent of Africa by people of African ancestry. I think this is an important topic for the hip-hop generation, especially in regards to the horrible problems in central Africa right now, many of which were discussed in my review for Mr. Lif's Mo Mega. The entire hip-hop generation, not just those of African ancestry, need to be aware of the problems in Africa, and know what we can do to help. Garveyism is an exceptional underground release, containing tracks for everyone, with head-nodding soulful production, a combination of lyrical flows ranging from slow and instructive to quick and witty, and positive and motivational tracks. One of the better conscious releases of the year thus far. I highly recommend checking it out. Review Status: Maybe one day ... Bump Status: Bump often.
