notes

Bouncy beats, funky rhythms, virtuoso guitars, space-age keyboards, & melodic vocals are just some of the reasons why Q*Ball has become one of the most talked-about & unique independent artists out there.

Q*Ball's music is accessible to fans of mainstream pop & alternative music, but also has an audience in the underground DJ scene. Songs like "Edith," a bump-and-grind instrumental tribute to All In The Family's Edith Bunker, illustrate the dance hall appeal of Q*Ball's music, while "Get On The Bus" reminds one of U2 on one of their "Pop"-era binges.

Q*Ball music has been featured on MTV's Road Rules, The Real World, The Osbournes, RWRR Battle of the Sexes, Clone High USA, & Making The Band.

Featured airplay on Z100 (NY), G106.3 (NJ), WZZR (FL), WRXL (VA), WRZK (WV), WFDU (NJ), KUCI (CA), XM Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, Radio Wazee, Radioio, M3 Radio, Streaming Radio, & many more.

Q*Ball has performed with Gavin DeGraw, Mya, Splender, Sugar Ray, Aimee Mann, Eve 6, & more at venues ranging from NYC's Webster Hall to Madison Square Garden.

Q*Ball's new album, Fortune Favors The Bald, is also available now at CD Baby.

  • Q*BALL IN (my) SPACE
    author: Craig Jackson

So there I was minding my own business, working at the computer and listening to my favorite on-line radio station when "Edith" came on. My world hasn't been the same since then. I had all but given up on dance and techno altogether and then along comes the Bald Freak to remind me what music really is. Inventive, intelligent and most of all fun! This album is brilliant and a worthy addition to any collection. Q*BALL (is very definitely) IN (my) SPACE.

Funk-laced electronica, filled with melody, lively beats & plenty of quirkiness to stand out from the pack - a scrumptious dance-pop bonbon. An intergalactic space ranger who moonlights as a go-go dancer in the seedy underground nightclubs of Madagascar, Q*Ball is poised to make his mark on the international music scene with his unique brand of electro-pop. Crazy dense fun!

  • Great Workout CD!

  • As everyone else seems to agree, Q*Ball has arrived!
    author: Chad Warden

Q*Ball is great. If your into Christian rock I think of him as a mix between IAN and Newsboys, not to mention that he looks a lot like the Newsboys lead singer! Great beat always driving moving forward.

  • Rockin!

  • Edith rules
    author: Jayne

Thsi cd is awesome and gives hope for the whole dance genre, which has seemed so tired lately. Edith is particularly clever and danceable - the whole cd is one to play on any kind of roadtrip to keep awake - you'll laugh, dance in your seat - forget your worries. A+

  • Fun and Funky
    author: BBurney

Honestly, I just tossed in this CD with a few others I was purchasing based on the recommendation on CDBaby.com. I listened to the few tracks online and just thought this would be a great addition to my tiny electronica/dance collection. I was right - this CD just pumps out the fun and sounds great.

  • Watch out baby: Q-ball has arrived!
    author: Michael Jiron

Buy this CD! If you're into electronica, this is it! If your foot's not tapping the floor on the first chorus, you might want to check into ER. Catchy instrumentation meets happening vocals in a vortex of swirling rhythms that creates a beautiful work of art. Watch out for Q-ball's rising star. Top Notch!!!

  • Caffeinated version of Moby.
    author: Ben Kramer

I'm a huge Moby fan, so when I ran into Q-Ball's stuff, it was right up my alley, musically speaking. In Q-ball in Space, the dance music is energetic, with positive, inspirational lyrics, and it sends you soaring across whatever world you are moving through. Q-ball is very musically gifted, knows how to play the instuments, and sing the lyrics. I personally love the song entitled "Committed". I am waiting for the chance to book his entertainment in my area. It would be a hit for the college students I entertain, and I'd see more than just a few out on the dance floor once they heard his music. You go, Q-ball!

  • "...electric with funk, techno-pop, and bouncy vocals..."
    author: J-Sin/Smother e-zine

Q*Ball In Space is Q*Ball’s answer to stagnant electronica. Featuring hits such as "Get On The Bus," "Chew," and "Edith," this album is electric with funk, techno-pop, and bouncy vocals. With huge guitar fuzz, each song is a build-up of the other with an almost fantasy-filled choose-your-own-adventure lurking at each turn, not to mention some of the best production work I’ve heard in a long time. "Hey DJ" conjures up images of Faith No More/Mr. Bungle’s Mike Patton, and to compare anyone’s vocals to the esteemed Mr. Patton is likening someone to God. In fact, if Faith No More had decided to continue but move in more of an electronica vein, they would have morphed into Q*Ball. Perhaps the finest moment is the spaghetti-western themed "The Man With No Name Who Saved the Town From the Scourge of Evil," showing that Q*Ball doesn’t take himself all too seriously. It’s a hoot and it’ll get you hopping to the beat.

author: Omar Perez, Altar Native Webzine

Perhaps Brooklyn's Q*Ball spent one too many hours behind the television watching the bouncing ball. If that's the case at least he developed a sense of tempo, something that's apparent this three-song demo, a short but sweet effort of funk-laced electronica, filled with melody, lively beats, and plenty of quirkiness to stand out from a flock of electronica tunes lathered in anal song structure. "Get on The Bus" comes across like U2 at a rave, while "Chew" features some Scooby Doo-inspired, haunting synthesizers. The human quotient is also equal to or greater that the sum of all the electronic parts, something that lacks in a lot of artists. -Omar Perez
