notes
New Release by Quamon Fowler entitled, "The Vision" is apart of Core Instrumental Music, LLC founded by Quamon. "The Vision" features artists from the southern region of Texas and Lousiana area like, saxophonists Rachella Parks & Darryl Reeves, pianists & keyboardists Arlington Jones, Shuan Martin, and Mike Esneault, bassists Jerome Allen, and Roland Guerin, drummers John Jones, Jason Thomas, and percussionist Calvin Veal and of course the leader of the project, Quamon Fowler on tenor saxophone. This CD is a collection of unique heart-felt origanals and an arrangement of Gospel hymn, Blessed Assurance. Quamon refers to his music as "Core Instrumental Music" because his music has a focus after pleasing the heart of God. His music reveals his investment in the intellectually stimulating dialect of bebop and fusion jazz, as well as the soulful-spiritual experience of gospel music, all comprised together to glorify Christ Jesus.

For Every Gospel-in-Jazz Lover
author: Greg AdamsQuamon Fowler's versatility and delivery is impeccable. His offering pays homage to every genre of jazz while remaining true to the gospel heart. Nothing self-centered here, just pure enjoyment for the listener. My favorite is his Mission Statement. I like how the CD covers ground in straight ahead, bop, avant-garde, modern and even smooth jazz. You go from Trane to Rollins to Ornette to Hancock/Zawinul to Grover even. But it's all Quamon; he owns all the territory. His time in the woodshed is apparent. I'm glad this sold-out Christian did not shy away from making such a joyful noise. Sit back and enjoy this original, outstanding work. Also, do a search on All About Jazz.com for Quamon Fowler and you will see a well-written interview showing this brother's humble heart.

This is easily the best CD I've had in quite some time, and Quamon definitely delivers his creative Vision to anyone who listens to him play. Any lover of jazz, fusion, or gospel simply MUST have this CD in their collection! You WILL NOT be disappointed!

I received in the mail today a cd titled "Vision," by another exceptional artist on the horizon named "Quamon Fowler," he plays saxophone. No, he's not your typical sax player either. For those of you that are offended by excessive programming in today's jazz well that's not happening on this project by Quamon Fowler. I'll be the first to admit he might not be for everyone, his style varies leaning to modern jazz, fusion with hints of gospel wrapped around the core of his music from time to time. He's a bad boy, yes he is with real instrumention! Peace, Rob P.S. If by chance you haven't heard of Quamon Fowler, he is featured on the Nu-Voices ( http://contemporaryjazz.com/nu-voices.html )page this month.
