    I love, love, love this CD! RTB's "Ormolu" is by far the best album to come out of Portland in ages! It's definitely on my top 10 list for 2006! What can I say about this CD? Everything! But, why don't you just buy the cd and let the music speak for itself. Rumor has it that Rachel is woring on another release come early 2007. I can't wait!

  • The real deal

    Next to my turntable I have a stack of old records that get more play than anything else I have...Randy Newman, Blood Sweat and Tears, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young...all stuff that came out years ago and has worn better than most of whats been released in the past couple of decades. If brown had put out ormolu on vinyl, it would be in that stack. Each new release makes it clearer what a unique find this artist is, especially with all the people out there right now who have nailed the look and sound of someone great but have no voice of their own and absolutely fuck-all to say. You can hear the influence of past greats, especially Newman in brown's music, but what she has deliver is something that is truly all her own. Imagine for a second Randy Newman with the voice and classic metal edge of Ann Wilson and you'll start to get the idea. Best $10 I spent this year - just wish it had come out on vinyl. mj
