Clean -sounding and lively boppin' recorded at the legendary Sun Studios.
author: Rockabilly MagazineClean -sounding and lively boppin' recorded at the legendary Sun Studios. Commanding guitar from ace picker Jim Holopter is well-framed by the synergetic, stone-solid team of slapper/vocalist Pedro Mora and drummer Jeff Holt. This vital waxing jumps up the action and lays down the groove. Harmonies, hooks, singalong choruses - "Roostina" remembers to captivate as it ennervates. The band is among the latest crop of neos to take up the torch and more enjoyable rockin' ones would be hard to name. www.Rockabillymagazine.com

this album is by all means a real pleasure for music lovers
author: BillyBop "Mr Blue Boogie"tyle : Rockabilly Rate (1-5) : Hailing from Kansas City, the Rumblejetts are from the new generation rockabilly heroes that are ready to bring back rockabilly to its American soil. While in the eighties most of the neo-rockabilly bands where from the UK, twenty years later, the US is kicking back. The Rumblejetts hit the scene with reborn energy and are spreading the rockabilly gospel with their second album “Roostina”. “Roostina”, recorded in the legendary Sun studios in Memphis, certainly knows to grab you. Ten tunes, eight self penned & two covers, fill this solid rocakilly album full of fifty memories made in the new century. The slap bass on “Clickity Clack 550 is back” & “Big Bouffant” or the Elvis cover “I don’t care if the sun don’t shine” are excellent examples of the rocking vibes the Rumblejetts produce. More vibes, kicks and yells can be found on “Roostina” or “That will be all from you”. Next to all their rockin’ the Rumblejetts do also have a warm heart. All the money of the September CD sales is given away to help the victims of the Hurricane Katrina. So hurry up and get your own copy at their site Pete Mora, Jud Kite and Jim Holopter are sure giving the best of them and this album is by all means a real pleasure for music lovers. The only complaint I have is that this album with almost 23 minutes playing time is way to short. Come back with more real soon & in the mean time I’m going to listen to Roostina once more. Mr Blue Boogie
If you like your Rockabilly simple and rockin' these guys can crank it out!
author: Ol'SkoolRodz Magazine Alan MayesBasics, that what these guys are about, Jim Holopter on guitar. Pete Mora doing vocals and playing standup bass, Jeff Holt on drums. Roostina was recorded at Sun Studios, like so many other rockabilly CDs these days, whether to pay homage or to try to capture some of the Sun magic. We don't know which, but it just seems like a right thing to do. If you like your rockabilly simple and rockin' these guys can crank it out for you. With the exception of the well-known and often recorded I don't care if the sun don't shine, all the songs on this CD were written by the Rumblejetts. Lots of guys do that, but I still find it impressive. It shows an extra level of talent than some either don't have or don't explore. That Girl is Death is probably my favorite song on the CD, maybe because of the short bass and drum solo sections on it. I also dig Jett Black Brunette from Calumet, another of the guys songs about women who are trouble. Come to think of it, all those particular songs stuck a chord with me. It all makes sense now. "Get your belly full of booze and your legs in the air."
highly entertaining collection from a very talented American band.
author: Steve Aynsley "Now Dig This"Music often tends to go around in circles. Back in the early 1980’s, The Stray Cats brought a new dimension to the rockabilly scene from America. They couldn’t get arrested over there so they brought their music to Europe and found an audience very willing to listen to their new sounds alongside those of The Polecats, The Blue Cats etc. Nowadays, bands like that are a bit thin on the ground, particularly in the UK, where what is left of the scene seems to have gone retro to more authentic adaptations. It would seem that, with bands like The Rumblejetts, America is now ready to accept a more modernistic approach. The Rumblejetts hail from Kansas City and feature Pedro Mora on upright bass and vocals, Jim Holopter on lead guitar and Judd Kite on drums. They write much of their own material with eight of the ten titles featured here being self-penned. The album was cut at Sun Studio in Memphis with James Lott at the helm and the results is a first class recording which, I’m sure, will pick up a lot of fans, particularly after the band’s Green Bay appearance. It begins in fine style with the opening track, "Clickity Clack 550 is Back", a frantic slap-bass rockabilly with the spirit of Chuck Berry running through it. I really like this one. "Roostina" has a more up tempo country feel to it with the punchline, "Oh Rostina, I mistook you for a cock." Hmmm… Still, it’s a great track and one that I’m sure goes down well at their gigs. All their songs, from "Road Rockets" and "That Girl is Death" to "Jagged Bottle", have a great slant to them and are full of energy - "reborn energy" the accompanying blurb tells us. Their street cred cannot be questioned with such material. The two non originals are Bill Allen’s "Please Give Me Something" and Elvis, "I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine", both of which work well. This is a highly entertaining collection from a very talented American band. Steve Aynsley "Non Dig This" Magazine, UK
