CD IN STOCK. ORDER NOW. Will ship immediately.

Hip, fun, energetic, clever, Americana. Dammit - This is what more major labels in Nashville should be doing: great lyrics & licks that don't sound like every other song on the street & underlying wry humor that doesn't mar the authentic country flavor.

notes

Ruthie and the Wranglers are a Washington DC area band and play some of the country's best Americana music. With numerous Washington Area Music Association award winnings and national touring, this band combines, Blues, Country, Jazz, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll influences to create their own sound they call Rockin' American Roots music! They have just recorded their 4th CD and are ready to perform more of what Billboard magazine calls..."nothing short of brilliant" Their high energy, quirky original songs make them anything but typical country.

"What Mama Don't Know" garnered the Song of the Year award from the Washington Area Music Association.

Check out the Bakersfield sound influenced instrumental "The Farewell Polka"

Fact: A Tulsa DJ was fined $25 for playing He's a Honkytonk Man on the air.

Read this sparkling review from Patsi Bale Cox, Author of Loretta Lynn's "You Ain't Woman Enough", Tanya Tucker's autobiography and press agent for Garth Brooks:

"No Depression" calls Life's Savings honky tonk, "Country Music People" calls it rockabilly & honky tonk with a little shuffle thrown in and "Billboard" calls it "nothing short of brilliant." I call it jumped-up-country-boogie and ditto "Billboard"'s assessment. But whatever you want to tag it, Life's Savings is one of the coolest CDs I've heard in a while. This music is a fusion of all that's good about American roots music -- country, rockabilly, boogie & blues. Dammit -- this is what more major labels here in Nashville should be doing: great lyrics & licks that don't sound like every other song on the street; underlying wry humor that doesn't in any way mar the authentic country flavor; energy and depth and range. ... Key cuts for me were Phil Mathieu's "Farewell Polka," Ruthie's self-penned (and hilarious) "He's A Honky Tonk Man," Ruthie & Phil's "What Mama Don't Know" and "Forgive and Forget," and Ruthie's on-target cover of Loretta Lynn's "Fist City." Actually, there's not a throwaway cut on here. It's all good. Go immediately to www.ruthieandthewranglers.com and buy this CD! If you don't love it send it to me. I'll give you your money back myself. And that's the safest offer I ever made.
