notes
"SOMEDAY" - Named ALBUM OF THE YEAR by the Washington Area Music Association! (WAMA)
Ruthie and the Wranglers are a Washington DC based band and play some of the country's best Americana music. With numerous Wammie award winnings and national touring, this band combines, Blues, Country, Jazz, Rockabilly, and Rock and Roll influences to create their own sound they call Rockin' American Roots music! With their 4th CD the Wranglers perform more of what Billboard magazine calls..."nothing short of brilliant" Their high energy, quirky original songs make them anything but typical country.
"Ruthie and the Wranglers' "Someday" is clearly the product of many days well spent writing and recording songs -- songs vibrant or clever enough to make most of what passes for country music these days sound dead on arrival."
- Washington Post
"Relative" facts: Ruthie is a distant cousin of the legendary Jimmie Logsdon, writer of Rockabilly hit "I Got a Rocket in my Pocket." Greg Hardin, is brother of Andrew Hardin, Tom Russell's guitarist.
Wrangler lead guitarist, Phil Mathieu, is known for his B-bending "Tele" licks. He toured with the late great Charlie Byrd and recently played guitar in the Broadway show Aida at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.
"Award winning" facts: Ruthie and the Wranglers Win Big at the 2003 Wammies gathering 8 Awards total including Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Country Vocalist, Best CD Design, Roots Rock Recording, Country Recording and Artist Website! Wow!
"Someday" is the band's first all original album. Logsdon and Hardin's solid songwriting and Phil Mathieu's standout instrumentals make this album more than typical Wrangler antics.
"For Cryin' Out Loud" was originally recorded on their Live CD and was so popular, it was rerecorded for "Someday."
Check out the Surf instrumental... "Revenge of Surftilicus"!
Someday was on the Roots Country and Americana charts for 20 straight weeks! Thanks to everyone who has reviewed our CD. We love reading all that feedback about our music! Please write one, make me laugh out loud! -Ruthie
The songs getting the most airplay are I Say Tomato, He's a Lost Ball, For Cryin' Out Loud and Someday. My favorites are Someday, I Say Tomato and Surftilicus.

Eagerly awaited, and even better than I had hoped for!
author: Gordon LatterGreat sound quality! This CD showcases the talents and versatility of Ruthie and the boys more than its predecessors! You still get the combination of roadhouse twang and humor you love, plus you get a great variety of musical styles that make you realize how talented this group really is. Where are the major labels??!!
Fabulous!
author: Seth KibelIt's been playing non-stop in my car! A great album for a road trip! Nice work, folks...
Lively, cool and very original
author: Mike Harmelin"SURFTILICUS" attracted me first when I heard it on XM-12 radio (Country Progressive). Hearing pieces of "CATWALK" and "YOU SAY TOMATO", I knew I had to have this CD. What an original, cool compilation! They go upbeat and downbeat with stylish harmonies and great guitar work. A winner!
What a treat.
author: Steve LongWow. Thank you Ruthie. A delightful musical treat. What a great album.
A bargain at twice the price!
author: Ginny BurtonThe best R&TW album yet! Intelligent lyrics combined with memorable tunes make it an album you'll enjoy more with each playing. Ruthie's "Tell 'Em What They Oughta" may become an anthem for the new feminists. Greg's "I Say Tomato" provides a funny look at miscommunications between the sexes in a post-Gershwin world. Phil Mathieu's "Revenge of the Surftilicus" (with Ruthie's moans/screams of pleasure in the background) will have you waxing your 'board and "Catwalk" will make you slink up to strangers and rub against their legs! You've been warned!
