  • Minimal
    author: pino italy

''We are Waiting All For Hope''is the 4th Cd by Saeta. It is an original ensemble, with minimal use of instruments (guitar, cello, piano),capable of offering ballads that reflect cold winters, that seem to come from the far North. This is the outcome of many session in the recording studio. We can listen to''Last Night I Dreamt that somebody loved me''a cover by the Smiths, that gives us a sensation of elegance.''Wake up Sally''is good to listen to as well.It is a record that not easy to listen to for the first time, but after listening to it after a few times,we realize that it is a great record, wery original in sound.

  • I love the way this music makes me feel...

As I popped in the cd "We Are All Waiting For Hope" after receiving it from CdBaby, I knew I would like it. I had heard their music on my laptop and was immediately drawn to this artist. But when I heard this cd I loved it more with every song. I recommend "Can You Forgive" for a great first impression of Saeta. This trio sounds great and their lyrics are amazing. This is the type of music that goes into your ears and is soon absorbed in your bloodstream. This cd is here to stay, and should be predominately displayed in any music collection.

  • Chamber-pop trio's elegantly gloomy sound.

Even a big fan like this writer had to let "We Are Waiting All for Hope," the fourth Saeta album, grow on him; once it started, it took hold, like ivy. While the band is not a huge draw, it has attracted some top-notch producers. Kramer, the Low and Galaxie 500 slow-rock pioneer, produced Saeta's previous album, and Steve Albini (Nirvana, the Pixies) took over the control booth for this one.

  • I won’t make the mistake again of leaving this one off the best-of list for 2004

We are Waiting for All Hope is Saeta’s fourth album since 1999, and a sampling of songs from each at the band’s website will show that there’s not a bad track in the catalog. But there’s no doubt that We are Waiting is a masterpiece, both in musicianship and production. This album is sweet, beautiful, intense, and rich, filled with personal songwriting and immense instrumentation. I won’t make the mistake again of leaving this one off the best-of list for 2004.

  • ...lush orchestrations not meant to be heard low on the volume dial.

Seata quell the passionate fire burning inside all of our souls with their quiet lush orchestrations not meant to be heard low on the volume dial. Guitarist and vocalist Matt Menovcik (he also weighs in with percussion and occasional accordion performances) has a voice and tone not heard since Morrissey's days in The Smiths. Just listen to the building crescendo of album opener "Can You Forgive" with its kaleidoscope of vocals and piano-fueled melody lines. This may be one of the most important indie offerings this year. smother.net

  • ... Saeta is a band that more people need to know about it ...
    author: punkinternational.com

This isn't the first time I've said that Saeta is a band that more people need to know about it, but I'm saying it now more firmly than I ever have before. There's a unique dynamic between the two vocalists that can't be found anywhere else, and the piano-cello instrumentations are simple yet breathtakingly effective. The songs Grand Canyon, Not for Today, and Anywhere But Here must be heard to be believed. punkinternational.com
