notes
He has worked with many legends of the music industry, such as
Bob Dylan, John Prine, Donald Byrd, Jackson Brown and Eden
Ahbez to name a few. In 1991 won a Grammy for sound
engineering and playing drums on John Prine's "The Missing
Years" C.D..
In 2003, KONAMI and Akira Yamaoka, released PlayStation games called "Silent Hill 3"
and "Silent Hill 4" with soundtrack albums featuring Joe's vocal on
"Hometown" and Cradle of the Forest".
Joe has also recorded a large catalogue of his own songs and
instrumentals, with many co-writes on band projects such as The
Marc Tanner Band, Soy Cowboy, Doug Hamblin and Meat
Sandwich.
His songs genre's range from simple love songs, to politically
incorrect social statements. From acoustic folk to high energy
dance tracks, Joe's eclectic taste comes from early influences of
The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Louie Prima, John Cage
and Karlhein Stockhousen.
A drummer/bassist/guitarist/programmer who sings and writes
music produced from his Shadow Box Studio. Always looking for
new sounds, projects and artists to record.
Many of Joe's band projects got to the point of recording a demo,
then fell apart due to the usual various reasons: financial, ego or
drug overdose-related band crap. It's a fact of life, bands break up. We've all seen it before even in the best of bands, like the Beatles,
The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Windows...what, you
never heard of The Windows? That's because they broke up
before their record was released. Their career was shattered
when the lead singer Crystal Payne joined the Hammers. Now
their recordings are put on a shelf and forgotten.
Now in this wonderful age where music can be sold on the
internet, it's possible for his songs and productions to be heard.
Joe's taken the best of his shelved songs from the past and
created something he calls "Past Masters" Vol.1, 2 and 3.
This Vol.2, Is the Romantic side of life! Songs reflecting on
moments of Love, Lust, Hope for the future, and the hard to detect
joy of the moment itself. From the heart, comes Vol.2.
This CD maybe a TREASURE, or it may be GARBAGE,
as ART aways is! Buy one or collect all three!

I can't believe what a find this C.D. is! Real music, real musicians, real songs, real songwriting, and original! I loved every minute of this C.D.! Lyrics that touch you and lyrics that make you laugh! Great melodies! Great fun! AND THEN THERE'S THE ARTWORK TOO! I'm always amazed when I find an artist this good! I've got all three C.D.'s!
Very fresh...very original
author: KGLO StudioVol 2. Rocks! Such a great mixture of styles and grace. And I love Joe Romersa's voice. I just can't get enough! ...and I found the hidden artwork. DId you? (Must have Vol1 and 3 too to see it!) FUN FUN FUN!
Cool and eclectic music that keeps you thinking!
author: Rene RodriguezThis CD is one great song after another. Virtually every song will stay with you and, later, you'll want to hear it again. My particular fave at the moment is Line On Life. With it's clickity-clack percussion (evoking a train moving down the line) and its lonely, distant harmonica - floating on a layer of reverb (and, of course, Joe's enigmatic voice) - this song is worth the price of the CD alone. I recently played this CD at a family members restaurant (Blvd Grill in Sierra Madre, CA), and someone was always starting it over. Everytime I turned around, the CD had been restarted - it would play again and again. All three discs are great to have but this one is getting the most play at this time. Thanks Joe, can't wait for volume 4.
Dreamy! Put me in the mood the minute I heard it!
author: SabinaThe mix of male an female voices is really nice. Joe's voice is deep and very sexy! My boyfriend turned me on to it last week, and I can't stop playing it. It flows real nice from start to finish. The first time he played it for me, he put it on in his living room, but ended up hearing it mostly from the bedroom down the hall. Hearing it up close now I can hear the details in the lyrics. Mmmmm! Thank you Joe. Great CD!
As good as the first volume if not better
author: Doug StoneWorth the price just for Third World Romance. I know this ARtist from his days as lead singer/drummer for Soy Cowboy, one of the great L.A. bands. This CD rocks.
Flavors abound! Cool tunes. Worth picking up for your collection.
author: Love Planet RecordsThis Cd is another great one of the 3 cd collection. You'll find cool songs, funky grooves, nice melodies and mood throughout. Influences sound like they range from Tom Petty, Robert Palmer and Enya. Strange but very pleasing mixture of tracks. Overall production quality is great and musicianship and songwriting are very strong.
You're going to love this one!
author: Joy - Film Music Media GroupYou're going to love this one! One of my favorite CDs now, "Line on Life" makes me want to jump up & dance around 100 times... All the songs are excellent!
