notes
This is one of those records you come across once every couple of years. It seems to fall into your lap, almost without you knowing it, from some random source, and finds you just when you needed to hear it. The songs somehow creep into your life and become a kind of soundtrack to the day to day events. That "road trip" or that "last time you saw them" will be with you vividly everytime you put the record on.
I remember asking singer Gregg Sarfaty what they were aiming for when they were sitting in the living room recording "Wanted A Girl". He paused a moment then smiled,"We wanted to tell the kinds of stories that would touch the listener everytime, songs that really got to the heart of the matter and moved all of us. We wanted to make music we'd be proud of in twenty years. We're an ambitious bunch."
Once in a great while a record comes along that truly captures a phase of your life and it's so difficult to explain just why you hold it so dear. I'll just call it a "classic" and invite you to listen for yourself.

5 stars 'aint enough
What can I say other than if you haven't got this CD , then you're missing out on some great music. However, on the other hand , don't buy it , those of us who have experienced it want it all to ourselves! This band are dynamite and the second Cd 'sweet Lullabye' is just as good if not better. Also , see them live. I've seen them 4 times this year and it isn't enough. When they next tour the UK I'm going to every venue. God, I'm a groupie!-What the hell!(sorry Satan)
Music that hits THE spot
author: Mark S.A cd discovered through a radio station and I cannot stop playing it. As mentioned by others, no definitive genre does this album justice and it is never played at anything other than LOUD. Discover a great sound.
Wow! A summery stunner. Also nice to fall asleep to....
author: CarolineYeah I enjoyed the CD. I like style of it and the singers voice. I can see why they are compared to the Counting Crows, but don't. This is the kind of album that you play on the beach, or driving in your car with the roof/windows well down. And A Walk in Spain and Wanted A Girl ar the perfect tracks to fall asleep to with a smile on your face. The slight hints of folk and blues in the guitary songs is just right. How much do I sound like I'm sucking up? But everyone who has heard this album says the same. Suck it and see!
This is underpriced!
author: Rick Jones From Oxon UkBrilliant. Too cheap (less than 10 pounds sterling (includingpostage!). I'v played it in my car CD player for 2 weeks non-stop. Do your remember those albums that you bought through the post when you were 15, and you played them twice before going to school that morning, and then every day for weeks. Well this is the same thing, but now I'm 45 (sad). Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing Talent!
author: KimarieThis CD is an OLD SOUL CD... it's like you've been there before, the places he sings about are very familiar to the emotional places we've lived. It fit's right in to my savored collection...

you know a song is great when you start singing the lyrics after 1 or 2 listens, and the groove gets in your head and stays there all day. that's Stewboss thru and thru. one part Counting Crows, 2 parts unique, don't be fooled, these guys are destined to make it.

Great songs, great music...not just a band of the moment but a band of our time. In the years to come Stewboss will leave a longlasting mark of inspiration for future songwriters. Playin' music like it should be played...from the heart.

SATAN SAYS YESSS!!! (pardon me I have a slight lisp because of the forked tongue) Here is a CD that both Angels and Demons enjoy (well, we are the same race after all.)And You have not lived until you have heard my cover of "I'm for You". I am sorry to say I can take no credit for the seed that made this impressive (even by angelic standards) compilation of soulfull songs. It seems now that man finally has a tool to soothe his soul when he would normally seek me for more physical emphemeral contrivances. Shame; I could have fed on more souls if it just had never been released. >

Stewboss, Wow- What can I say. The band is great and the songs are all heartfelt and of the type that everyone enjoys, young and old folk or rock. The melodies are inspired and you will often find yourself humming them while you work or are involved with other aspects of life. I catch myself singing them outloud. What does that say- Judge for yourself - BUY THIS CD !!!

I am not normally into this type of music, but how can you deny something that makes you feel so good inside? The songs have an aire of perfectness that only a seriously talented songwriter could produce...Guaranteed to make you happy! P.S.: these songs are especially fun to play along with- or in my case TRY to play along with!)

This CD feeds your soul! Some of the best songwriting that I have ever encountered! This record is amazing! I find myself rocking along to "Blue Sea Blues," and then getting lost in the imagery of "A Walk in Spain." The lyrics are so raw, so touching, and so very inspirational. I've seen these guys live at a gig in L.A. -- they are not to be missed!!! BUY THIS CD!! I highly recommend it!!!

A phenomenal record. So simple and so open. It's a true pleasure to listen to. None of that whiney/flouncy/fake stuff you find in so many bands. It's just honest and clean. A fantastic release!

WANTED A GIRL IS THE BEST.ANYONE WHO READS THIS A LITTLE ADVICE: BUY THE CD YOU'LL LOVE IT

Who needs the rest of Coal -- this album rocks! Makes me feel like I'm listening to the Counting Crows without all the freaking whining about money and fame. Now, if the world is right, Stewboss will get the money and the fame and won't need to whine about a damn thing.

Stewboss, is the kind of CD, that makes you feel like you are listening to poetry put to music. The lyrics are direct, and go straight to the heart of human emotion. I guarantee you can relate directly to the emotion in these songs. As for the style of music, I think perhaps it's taking the road less traveled by. It doesn't really fit a music category. Which is always great by me. But whatever you want to define the music as, I think it will move you to think, and to feel. That's what great music is about anyway, right? BUY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! P.S. the risotto is great too! =)
