    heart in my hand
This is a project of love with the friends I grew up with. It is based on Rock and Jazz from the era that we grew up in (60's and 70's.) We, as friends, got back together after 30 years and had a blast. A little bit of old, a little bit of new.

    Gator Country Live
    Southern Rock Originators
In early 2005, a new band was formed that consisted of five “Original-Era” members of the legendary southern rockers Molly Hatchet. Included were Bruce Crump (drums), Duane Roland (guitar), Steve Holland (guitar), Jimmy Farrar (vocals) and Riff West (bass). These talented musicians wrote and recorded all of Molly Hatchet’s gold and multi-platinum albums. Unquestionably, the members of GATOR COUNTRY were very instrumental in forging the legend of their earlier classic band’s sound with such songs as Flirtin’ With Disaster, Gator Country, Bounty Hunter, Whiskey Man, Beatin’ The Odds, Dreams I’ll Never See and many others. Adding an old friend and seasoned guitarist, Linni Disse, the triple-guitar-attack was back with it’s unique and traditional sound that is now GATOR COUNTRY. After debuting as GATOR COUNTRY for eighteen months, the band and it’s fans were devastated with the sudden loss of beloved friend and guitarist Duane Roland. Upon considerable thought, and with the blessing of Duane’s family, the band’s decision was to carry on in his memory. His “Flying V” guitar still proudly joins GATOR COUNTRY onstage at every performance. While searching for a full-time guitarist, longtime friend and admirer of Molly Hatchet, Paul Chapman, offered to sit in. The legendary British rocker, formerly with UFO, who opened and headlined on many of the Hatchet tours, offered his services until a new guitarist was found. At the very first rehearsal, the beginning bars of “Beatin’ The Odds” were kicked off, and everyone knew right away that this wasn’t just temporary. It was clear that this unit rocked! The sound was just right, and everyone agreed; GATOR COUNTRY had just found their newest member. Gator Country Live, the band's first CD, shows the raw, untamed power of the early Molly Hatchet classics performed as they once were. Loud and proud, the guitars scream while the drums relentlessly pound out the beat. And GRITZ Magazine maintains that, "Jimmy Farrar is one of the most powerful singers in Southern Rock. In fact, he may well sound the best he has ever sounded." The members of GATOR COUNTRY are happy to be performing again for their fans, and are proud to offer legendary southern rock as it was intended!
