Vernon Burgess is the star of a BBC documentary series - 'SKINT'. Thanks to Vernon, SKINT has so far made it to it's 5th series, captivating its audience with the plight of folk living in extreme poverty in the UK. Vernon's ability to keep on moving and smile, sometimes laugh in the face of a barrage of adversity instantly warms the viewer to him. He struggles daily to make ends meet around his hometown of Birmingham (UK) begging, busking and selling 'The Big Issue', a magazine whose re-sale enables people in Vernon's position to generate money legally. Vernon doesn't ask for much from life, just to survive a little easier, enabling him to provide for his 2 children who he loves dearly. Despite being the sole composer, blu-jam has agreed to split all profits from this song after charitable deductions 50/50, maybe this can be the last chapter in Vernons epic struggle. There's nothing like watching an episode of 'SKINT' to make you feel happy with your lot !
