Rudy Casoni is often called, "a singer's singer." Other times a "drinker's singer" but usually he's referred to as a "drinking singer." He surfaced briefly in the mid-nineties to appear on MTV in thirty second shorts singing the hits of the day. Then it was back to his circuit: Atlantic City, Tahoe and Vegas. Until now.
When contacted by phone and asked Why make a Christmas record?, Casoni responded with his usual mix of hostility and profoundly slurred clarity: "Look you prick, I am blessed I tells ya. Truly fortunate to finally give these holiday gifts in song form. It was some kind of sweet song-lovin. A giving of birth if you will. You see, sometime last winter I was hit hard with inspiration and knocked unconscious. Perhaps it was a blackjack or a pipe. Could have been a heavy can of some kind. Anyway, I was held down and then, well, violated repeatedly by someone smelling of pine, cinnamon and myrrh whom I can only assume was Father Christmas because magically, nine months later, these twelve wet and precious joys burst forth from my singing loins. Ans so I give them to you this holiday season, pally. My divine Christmas Song-Children. I call them 'S'no Balls' you may call them 'Swinging'."
