Hearkening back to a more genteel time, Les Zazous transports you to a dimly lit salon replete with tufted chaise-lounges and the most decadent Bordeaux. This Los Angeles-based trio features vocals, guitar and double bass on this understated, yet delightful debut album. Spanning generations of musical landscape, Les Zazous tips the cap to 30’s gyspy jazz marvel Django Reinhardt, 60’s French icon Serge Gainsbourg, bossa innovator Tom Jobim, and chanteuses of legend past and present. Vocalist Tera Hendrickson performs the ensemble’s eclectic material in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Included on this CD is “Embrasse Moi”, a track she recently composed for the feature film “Say It In Russian” starring Faye Dunaway, directed by Jeff Celentano.
