    Violinist Sumiko Tajihi has been widely acclaimed for both her "passionate tone" and "warmhearted sound". She appeared as a concerto soloist with New York Symphonic Ensemble at the Isaac Stern Auditorium in Carnegie Hall on March 11th, 2007. A native of Yamaguchi, Japan, Ms. Tajihi received her bachelor's degree from The Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in Nagoya, and was the first prize winner in the 12th Youth Competition in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Between 1996 and 2000, she performed as a member of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and participated in the 46th Bayreuth Festival in Germany and the Aspen Music School and Festival in Colorado, USA. She studied with Momoo Kishibe, Yoshiko Okayama, and Naoko Tanaka. Since 1995, Sumiko Tajihi has been responsible for organizing concerts in schools throughout Japan. These interactive concerts aim at increasing appreciation of Live Classical Music, developing a better understanding of musical instruments and teaching students to participate and express themselves through music. In 2004 a similar program presented at the Henry Viscardi School in New York City was broadcast on News 55 - WLNY. Ms. Sumiko Tajihi has performanced extensively as a soloist with orchestra, including San Luis Potosi Symphony Orchestra (Mexico), Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), and as a chamber musician with concerts throughout the United States, Europe and her native country. In 2004, she was invited to perform in the Velia International Music Festival in Italy. In 2005, she formed "Duo Leonore" with pianist Marco Schiavo and performed in Chamber Music Festivals throughout Italy. Their debut at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in 2006 was Sold-Out. In 2007 she appeared as a soloist on the world’s greatest stage, Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall, performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1 in G Minor with the New York Symphonic Ensemble.
